Default Suggested Feature -- Auto-change channel

I suggested this feature to Sirius Customer Care, but i'm sure some of you would like it as well.

We have the ability to turn our radios off after however many minutes (sleep.)

We have the ability to be notified when our favorite songs are about to be played. (Actually, there's some times i'd like this to be turned off.

The alarm clock sucks, but it could be worked on. My radio just beeps at me one or two times....

....Which brings me to my dream feature.

Fall asleep to whatever channel, wake up to another channel. I like to fall asleep to something quiet, calm and soothing. When I hear Spa 73, i'm out in 15 minutes or less. But why can't I have Howard come on full-blast at whatever time I want?

Actually, I could wake up to Sirius on a proper alarm clock radio, but i'd need a seperate alarm clock radio to pick up the signal from my Sirius FM modulator.

Right now, I have to wake up, change it over, and then turn it up full blast. Why can't I have my Sirius radio do the auto-tuning and volume-blasting for me?

The Soloist will do exactly that if you set it up to record Stern.. it will come up and start recording, but you'll be able to hear Stern without you doing anything. I've done it many times.

I like the idea for other radios as well. With all the special programming going on it would be nice to get a reminder of shows you don't want to miss.

The feature I want is a filter. I want my receiver to block out anything by the Eagles or Creedence. It could change the station or just play a sample that says something like "Content blocked to keep from ruining your mood. Please find something better to listen to."

You are so right about spa 73...puts me to sleep nearly every night!
I vote YES on your new auto-tune feature

Not really what i'm looking for. It'll record, but i'd still like to have something that would flip channels automatically.

Well I doubt you'll ever get what you really want. It's a good idea, but I don't see this as being something real high on SIRIUS list to impliment.

By the way, you know you CAN do exactly what you want with an iPod!

It's probably not too high on their list and I don't blame them. They need to worry about things like content, impoving their coverage area, and releasing a wide variety of radios.

How can I achieve what I want with an iPod?

Because iPods allow you to listen to any genre, artist, album while in sleep mode. Then you get to pick whatever playlist you want to play when it wakes you up. Isn't that the idea? No, you can't get SIRIUS content, but it will do what you want. I used an iPod for months to go to sleep and wake up.
