Default Here Is A Good "Account Past Due" Story

I could not listen to Sirius Internet Radio this morning either through the Sirius Tuner or through my web browser (the web browser instructed me to contact Sirius). When I tried to log into my account, it said my account was past due and that I owed a whopping 86 cents. Because I had a previous credit on my account that was why the balance was 86 cents. When I asked the rep. why the 86 cents wasn't automatically deducted from my credit card (I have automatic credit card payments set up) he told me that my credit card company rejected the payment. Fortunately, he just credited my account 86 cents and I was able to listen online again. He told me to talk with my credit card company to find out why the payment was rejected. I did that and was told that they don't pay anything under $1.00. It's amazing that 86 cents could cause this type of a headache!!!!

At least it's better than oweing 1 cent to the electric company or getting your electricity shut down.

What is scary about that (and that is a lot worse than losing Sirius Internet Radio for a short while) is that my credit card company would have rejected the automatic payment of 1 cent. Could that have meant bye, bye electricity (probably not, but stranger things have happened)?
