I voted yes for the DJ's as well. It's one thing that helps separate Sirius from XM. My GF has XM playing at her job and she tells me that the DJ's on XM are very "dry" by comparison, and some other words that I won't post here. I love the FM without commercials feel, but I agree, let's not get too carried away. I also love having all the original VJ's off of MTV on the Big 80's, we hear their views on artists and events from back then and now, that's something that XM can't offer.

So for the most part, I say keep it how it is.

I have quoted previous polls about DJ's to folks that say DJ's shouldn't even be on SIRIUS. My response has always been that the majority of subscribers do like having DJ's. This poll just confirms this even though the polling still has a ways to go. The fact is most of us feel that Sat Radio should include DJ's but they need to have some limits or dare I say restrictions.

I see a trend: The crap channels have the crap DJs.

The lesson we can all take away from this is: "Listen to better music and you will hear better DJs."

I doubt it since DJ presence is one of the differentiators between 'radio' and 'MP3 player' plus, unless I'm running RockBox I wouldn't imagine buying an iPod.

I like the way things are now. I would find it somewhat boring if the DJ's were gone.

Membag, sorry people do not all like your music. I assume I would find your preference as Sh*t. But you need to understand we are not debating music here. If you have no complaint about the DJ's why did you even click into this thread?

I agreed with keeping them. I actually chose Sirius over XM when they had 440,000 subs because of the DJ's (plus I thought NY would be the bigger draw to Howard over DC). My thought is that now that we have S50's and ST100's they should at the very least isolate the songs from the DJ's and Station ID's so we can record a clean copy of the songs we want.

And we do not need to hear about begging for naked pics or animal sex stories. Or, about Maxim for that fact.

I think one of the reasonse they do that is thier hope others are listening besides the subscriber and if they like the channel they want to burn it in thier brain, so maybe they will get the bug to go out and get their own Sirius radio. Just my guess anyway. I do think some of them are funny. Hair Nation has some good ones like "Sirius 23, Hair Nation. If your kids don't like it, tell them to get thier own damn car!"

Also I do like the DJ's. Some of them provide good info on what the bands are/have been doing, tour info, new record info, etc.

Sirius is RADIO, just like FM there's going to be a D.J. forcing you to listen to Alanis Morissette and talking over your favorite songs. What part of Radio don't you understand. The only difference between FM and Sirius is you pay and it's commercial free. But in a couple of years they will stop being commercial free and charge you 14.95 a month, then 19.99 a month.

Feeling a bit hostile today, are we?
You know, your question got me to thinkin'... "Maybe there is a part of radio I don't understand". So I looked it up in the dictionary and the definition didn't mention anything about D.J.s OR talking over music. Boy, was I relieved. I thought maybe you knew what you were talking about.

Without dj's satellite radio would just seem like an ipod on shuffle with a 12.99a month subscription. The dj's now, or at least on Hard Attack I enjoy listening to, they are funny, informative, and seem pretty cool. Without out them it's just an ipod.
