Default Super MP3 Recorder Professional

Does anyone have this? I recently just bought a new Dell (Inspiron E1705) adn when I record mixes off of Sirius dance they come out all staticy on my ipod. My sample rate is set at 44100 and the bitrate is at 256. I bought new wires to connect to my pc so I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, if anything.

Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Do you have a wire running from the headphone to microphone? Or using stereo mix? Usually the headphone to microphone is the wrong combination of data output/input so it only works from headphone to line in.

My wire goes from the audio input (on my receiver) to the line in on my computer (it's the microphone slot, but it's a 5 in 1 deal where you get to select whether you want line in, microphone, etc and I selcted line in)

I have my settings for the recorder on stereo...should it be dual channel or mono?

Should I change my wire to the headphones for the receiver?

Yours should come from the output (headphone) port or like you said you'll just have static...

Well I tried connecting my wire to the output (headphone output) and it's still staticy. It sounds like my speakers are blown out everytime it plays bass at high volume (no it's not my computer because it's like that on my ipod too). Is there something else I'm doing wrong?

Sounds like the level is too high somewhere along the signal chain. Try adjusting the levels of the device & the input source on the computer. Is there a pre-amp anywhere in the chain?
