Unhappy Comedy channels> monotonous

I've been a subscriber for several years now, and I could never understand why the comedy channels are so poorly programmed. Why not feature say a single comedian for a full hour, or even 1/2 hour, instead of constantly switching styles every couple of minutes. Comedy just doesn't work like that. Like say a Carlin hour. A Dangerfield hour, etc. I thought as time went on, Sirius would do things like that and become more innovative. Guess I was wrong. I realize they are trying to appeal to different tastes, but it's just boring the way it's done now. As soon as a comic gets going they switch to another style. Just doesn't work for me. To bad, because a comedy channel done right could be one of the best things Sirius has to offer.

I feel the same way. Everytime I start getting into one comic they switch and I usually don't like the person they switch to.

I thought about making a suggestion to the comedy channel, but I figured anyone programming a comedy channel would pick up on this by simply listening to the channels. Maybe there is some legal reason, but it seems a shame to waste the airspace the way they are doing it now.

I can agree with that.

Does Sirius ever play whole concerts on any of the comedy channels?

They should pay more attention to these channels. And Radio Classics, which is another long, long, long

long

story.

As a former XM subscriber (wife still has XM), I'd say I like XM's comedy programming better.

They did for Dice... and that didn't work out too well.

There's been a few live Lisa Lampanelli and Doug Stanhope specials on Raw Dog. But as far as playing an entire George Carlin (or anyone) concert, I've yet to hear that.

It goes like this:

4-minute Dennis Leary bit ------> Raw Dog Comedy Uncensored promo ------> 5-minute George Lopez bit ------> Raw Dog Comedy Uncensored promo ------> 2-minute Richard Pryor bit -----> Raw Dog Comedy Uncensored promo.........

I'm still wondering why SIRIUS doesn't switch The Wiseguy Show and Jim Breuer Unleashed from Raw Dog and place them on a more appropriate channel like Stars 102. That right there would give them more room to air a concert or two.

I'd also like to know why in the hell Raw Dog is playing the untalented hack Dane Cook?! The man is not in the least bit funny and rips off bits from actual talented comedians like Louis C.K. (who has sued over this) as well as others. And some listeners actually had the audacity to vote for this idiot during the Raw Dog coutdowns.

Raw Dog would be much better if they just dropped the unfunny Dane Cook from the lineup.

I don't mind the channels the way they are....

I don't listen to the comedy channels that much, but I do enjoy them when I do. I was pissin' myself last night listening to a routine by Don Rickles on Blue Collar

Blue Collar is an excellent comedy station. Unlike Raw Dog and Laugh Break, I actually like most of everything they air. The exception being George Lopez.

The problem with airing a full act is many comedians tend to refer back to material from earlier in their acts. If you tune in 20 minutes into the act, you often miss some of the humor as a result.

I would like to see Wiseguys and Jim Breuer off of Raw Dog. Put the Wiseguys into the same slot on Sirius Stars; it's just a Judith Regan replay they would kick off. I don't know about Breuer; I'd say Howard 100, but I know Howard's fans would be pissed about only hearing him 23 hours per day.
