Angry All I hear is buy Sirius for Christmas...but they don't send it!

I don't know what's wrong with Sirius. I have been a subscriber for 2 years now, and I placed an order to buy my mother a radio, boombox, and sub on NOVEMBER 30.

A week passes, no damn email confirmation...I call them and ask what's up. They said it takes them a little while to "verify the credit card"....wtf?? I have been using this same credit card with them for 2 years, ok whatever....anyway they tell me to wait another week.

I wait another week, no email confirmation. I call them back, they apologize and say they will send my order to corporate to speed it up.

A couple of days later I get the confirmation, and a shipping notice saying it will come in on December 20. Ok no big deal, plenty of time for Christmas.

December 20 comes, I get a box with only a radio in it...no boombox. The box was addressed to me, but the packing slip belonged to someone across the country!

I call them up, guy says there have been a few reports of this happening, and he says the boombox will come in before Christmas, he predicts it will arrive on the 22nd.

The 22nd comes around (today) and no boombox. Now UPS doesn't deliver on Saturdays and I'm sure they will be closed on Christmas, so where's my damn boombox?

I call them up again and after being disconnected the first go around, I get through to someone. That guy says there is no way I'll have my boombox for Christmas. Says even if they shipped it UPS Next Day it wouldn't come in on time. Says it won't be in until later that week or even the next week.

So there you have it, all of this constant damn advertising to buy radios for Christmas and you can't even get the f'in thing in on time!

Just another reason not to buy direct from Sirius.

I'd go out and buy a boombox at a store, and then cancel your order with Sirius.

When I ordered my free Sirius One I got it fast, however, there are so many horror stories it's best to stay away from them. Whenever their contract runs out with the people handling orders now they need to find a new place!

I ordered a new S50 on 12-19 as a gift.

Thanks to the Sirius "current subscriber discount" , and my AAA discount, I ordered a S50 w/ car kit and a home kit (and a Stern key chain) for 89.09 - that’s instant discount (no rebate necessary), and free shipping. very happy!

Now back on 12/19, when I ordered, they advertised free shipping and guaranteed delivery for xmas (by Friday 12/22).

Went to bed Friday night (last night) with no shipment confirmation, and order status still only showed the "processed" status.

I was very annoyed - as this is supposed to be a gift for the holidays.

Checked my e-mail this morning, and found a shipment confirmation.
I was still VERY annoyed - as I did not expect this shipment until the next business day - which is Tuesday the 26th.

at 11 am, there was a knock on the door, and UPS man had a Sirius box for me.
It turns out that it left their warehouse LATE Friday evening, and they shipped it over night with Saturday delivery.

Way to go Sirius! Good to their word!
I have been a happy Sirius customer for 3 years, and will continue to be.

Happy Holidays

If only that were the rule instead of the exception. Most have had terrible experiences with them.

Good deal on you getting yours...
I ordered mine on 12/14 and after getting confirmation on 12/19 that it shipped, on 12/20 that it didn't now it says they'll deliver on 12/26. I called and after a half hour on the phone all they were willing to throw in was 12.95 one month discount...

Guess we'll see, UPS usually passes by here in about 2 hours...I hope I can get it in.

The reason I didn't buy it in the store is because the stores didn't have the discounts as the Sirius site does. With the boombox I get a free Sportster 4 with the car kit, plus a 15% or so off the entire price.

I don't do any online buying. I've also heard too many horror stories on purchases not being recieved. Thank God for Circuit City, Best Buy and Wal Mart.

There are good online retailers. Crutchfield and TSS-Radio are two of the best I have ever used. There is nothing wrong with CC, BB, WM, but often times you must wait weeks if not months to get items that are available online.

An update...I installed the radio on Christmas and went to their site to activate it. Their site wouldn't let me log in, I guess due to traffic, so I called in.

When I called in I told the guy the site wouldn't let me log in, and he said he'd waive the entire activation fee. Cool ok.

Then when he tried to activate the radio, it said the radio was currently in use in Ohio....which is where my packing list was addressed to. He finally came to the conclusion that Sirius shipped my order to her, and her order to me. So while she got my boombox and radio, I got her radio.

After canceling her subscription with the radio, he was able to activate mine. He also gave me a free month, I am not sure of a deal or just because of all these problems.

Still waiting for my replacement boombox to come in now.
