Default Band A, Band B, Band C???

I was checking out the Walk The Dog forum and everyone's favorite presets... Everyone is listing them as favorites in Band A, favorites in Band B, etc...

What do you guys mean by that? I felt that asking that in the WTD forum would be considered off-topic, so I posted it here... If I posted this in the wrong forum, please feel free to move this in the appropiate place.

on most radios there are "banks" of channels, otherwise known as bands, with up to 10 available presets in each bank. So if you only have 10 preset buttons, but you have 3 banks or bands, you have 30 presets. Hope that didn't confuse you more.

the "bands" are similar to the FM-1 FM-2 FM-3... system some car stereos have.

Basically, by using these "bands/banks," the user can store more presets without having to clutter up the radio with, say, 50 preset buttons.
