ok i keep reading post about how bad sirius is. mostly on other sites. a few here also. my biggest complaint is the fact that people keep slamming sirius for sounding like fm. now when is the last time you heard wasp or slayer on fm? where is the all elvis on fm? i am also on radio-info as i use to be in the radio industry. if you ever get a chance go read what the morons in testical radio are saying about sirius! what a bunch of idiots! i had to vent.. thoughts..

Not elvis, but there was once an all Beatles station on AM several years ago.

I remember reading about an AM All-Elvis station in Cincinnati, back before Sirius existed. I don't know how long that lasted. Anyone out there from that area who knows?

Might not of lasted very long. The Beatles station lasted only for about 6 months and it was commercial free if I remember correctly. It was on a border-blaster station.

I decided to look it up for myself.

WCVG, in Covington KY (AM 1320 in the Cincinnati market), was an all-Elvis format for less than a year. From wikipedia:

"In mid 1987, WCVG switched to a contemporary country format. That didn't last long as WCVG became the country's first "All Elvis" station in late 1987. According to a web site operated by former WCVG General Manager Rod Williams, WCVG discontinued the "All Elvis" format on August 1, 1988. On that date, WCVG became an affiliate of the Business Radio Network with 24 hours of business news and talk."

It's currently a Spanish music format. Between the business and spanish formats, it was (in succession) a country/sports talk station, an urban gospel station, and classic country. Whew! Talk about multiple personality disorder.

So remember that the Elvis Channel on Sirius is not an original idea.

Not original, but SIRIUS has been the only one able to work out promotional agreement with Graceland. SIRIUS is promtly represented at Graceland. There are many, many talents, agents, producers, promoters etc in the music business that knew Elvis and had worked with him that are often interviewed and or actually DJ for period of the day. The SIRIUS version has been the best to date and they did it right! I still enjoy this channel from time to time.

What I love about Sirius --> in two years of listening, I've NEVER had to settle for listening to a song that I dislike. At all times, I can find a song that I really enjoy. Usually, there's too many good songs playing at once!

I haven't even had it a month, but I have noticed the same thing. I can almost guarantee that, at any given time, several stations will be playing something I like. Sometimes, it is hard to make a decision on what station to pick.

Happy Sirius subscriber since June 2003. My lifetime plan radio is now paid for itself. I still pay for my S50 subscription at the reduced rate.

Sirius is better than it's ever been imo.

Lightbulb What unit?

What unit do you have that lifetime sub on? Is it the original? I am one year into my lifetime sub and I had to replace my radio. JCV SR2000 went bad after two years : (
