Are you using the FM transmitter as your connection to the radio, or Auxillary input? Does the unit say "Aquiring Signal"? I have found with my S50 that I have to remove power from the base unit once in awhile to get rid of the aquiring signal issue. MY base is plugged into a lighter socket that is always hot regardless of whether the car is on so that is the only time it gets a "reset".

Do both of these correctly and you have nothing to worry about.
Ditto.

I've had Sirius in my car for about three years. Rarely is there a drop-out, except in obvious situations like being stuck under an interstate overpass.

I have a home unit (Tivoli) in my living room. I knew that I should put the antenna outside, but I got acceptable reception without doing so. There'd be some drop-outs, sometimes several in one hour, then a week with none, etc. I finally put the antenna outside, running the wire through a window, and now there's almost never a drop-out.

Hint: point the antenna to a point very high above Kansas.

As a Sirius subscriber myself in Austin, I have nothing but great things to say about the service. I have two units. I have the Visor in my car, my husband uses his Sportster in our house. We live in far NW Austin (620/183 area) and have no issues. The repeater doesn't reach out there, so we are strickly running off of the satelites. In fact, we don't even have our antenna for our home unit outside. It's on top of the bookshelf! We get decent coverage that way, but we are running it outside this weekend.

We travel a lot to South Texas, and we never loose service. We travel to McAllen, where the closest repeater is in Corpus Christi..so no repeater service there, and Sirius is strong! So, don't let the critics scare you away. It is well worth it. We have taken my Visor out into the Gulf for a fishing trip and never lost the signal!

Zero problems for me. I can't express how much I listen to and love Sirius. All day everyday. Contacted CS 4 times. Never a problem.

I live in south Austin and get great reception at home and in the truck. I recently drove from Austin to Fayetteville, AR and back with no loss of signal at all.
