Default Radio model confusion

Hello all. New here. I'm looking into buying a used receiver but sure am confused abouth the different models, Sportster, Stargate, etc. Now, after searching these forums and the rest of the internet, I still have no idea of what I'm looking for. I have a business out of my home and spend very little time in a vehicle, so I'm interested in a unit (I guesss a receiver and Boombox) that will entertain me at home with old radio programs, talk shows and music. So can anyone direct me to somewhere where I can look at comparisons of what Sirius has out? Anyone have any suggestions? Are there so many models because of older models being replaced by newer ones? Thanks - Scotty

I have a simple recommendation, get a newer one that works with the universal boombox.

First of all, a lot of the older models with their specific boomboxes have been discontinued, and if you get a new radio, or your radio dies, all the other equipment will be useless to you.

Also the newer models at 5 Volts and don't burn as hot, and will hopefully have fewer heat related issues.

So find out what is compatible with the universal boombox, and pick one of those.
