The funny thing is, how do you get the channel number right, but get the company wrong?

LOL - No, I wasn't watching Oprah with a tissue in one hand, in front of my daughter.

As I said in the opening post, the TV was on in the room. I wasn't actively watching, but dropped my newspaper when I heard Oprah plug the wrong satellite service.

Personally I have NO idea why she is so popular.

is there anyone else at all who can confirm this? no offense to the author of the thread but it seems highly unlikely that this would occur; as the one poster said, Oprah's shows aren't broadcast live so there are editors, producers and "her people" that see the episodes before they're sent to the affiliates. the chances that it slipped by all those people are slim to none.

it would be great if it actually happened though.

Oh it did happen. My wife was watching Oprah with the decorator man and I think they both said XM. Oprah said something like "say it say it say it" or something to that effect.

I didn't even think twice about it when they said it. I didn't even know (or care) that she was on Sirius. Just goes to show you how much of an Oprah fan I am.

Well I remember her saying XM. But I think I've wasted enough time on Oprah for at least the next couple of decades.

It's a made up story. If it had been real don't you think it would have been all over the net. Oprah is a smart woman, too smart to make such a mistake and since the shows are taped, it could have easily been edited out if it did happen.

Who cares about Oprah? All that matters is Sirius is a great service and they have Martha to counter Oprah.

I gotta say, I'm pretty offended by your projection of my ethics here.

I heard it last Thursday and so did my daughter. I started the post with title "Did Anyone Else Hear Oprah's Mistake?"

I did NOT make it up. Really. Honest.

Only a true "Mental Midget" would conclude that NO MISTAKES or misquotes EVER go out on the air from prerecorded shows.

Then you were the only one in the U.S. to be listening because not one single other person has reported this.

I don't mean to offend, really, but I do think that if a mistake this big did occur the media, especially Howard, would be all over it due to the amount of money Oprah is being paid by XM. Just my opinion.
