Default Post Merger Dance Offerings?

I stole this from XMFAN

We will know which one survives when you start hearing just music and no DJ's on and rumors of pink slips...

Has anyone thought of this scenario..

Good Time Marcus in the morning
Skyy Show
Addiction with DJ Armando
Mr. Seth at night Yikes... Can You Imagine? gAY Gossip with BPM music? EHHHHH

They could just combine the two.. A Bigger BPM could get more DJ's since its now serving more subs and thats where the Sirius Beat DJ's come in.. Not their programming but just the talent..

What will happen to the mixshow DJ's too. Who stays?
Beat's Adrenalin or Global Domination? I say combine the two.. Adrenalin should be kept on.

I believe this poster is right in some aspects but does anyone know the true fate of the dance offerings on a merged service? I really can't stand DJ Armando on XM he plays nothing but horrible electro records and the wrong versions. I pray we do not have to suffer through his horrible music in a post merger dance offering. Who will stay the XM or Sirius guys is the big question. My thoughts are to bring back Remix and have a great mixshow channel once again.

I have really high hopes that through the merger the dance channels become the standard for all dance channels in the u.s. I want to be able to put it on a bpm/the beat kind of station and put me in a party mood. I also don't want to hear the same song repeated more than three times a day.

I would like for them to combine Area 38, and The System to become Club 38.

As long as NONE of the MIX SHOWS on XM 81 go ... ESPECIALLY Addiction with DJ Armando which I love and listen to almost every day.. in fact, today they are mixing all day in honor of the merger...

I kept sirius just for there mixshows....
if you read above i said armandos show sucks its repetitive electro and bad versions of songs
he has personally tried to ruin and run bpm into the ground for self promotion
sirius mixshows blow away bpm........oakenfold, stonebridge, paul van dyke, mike bordes, murk, darude the list doesn't end...... bpm has who?

Sirius mix shows are what keep me here.

Unfortunately, I think that's pretty much the only positive thing they have going for them. I don't see how anything will change with the Dance stations. What Sirius is giving us now is what they believe to be good dance stations. If they thought XM had good stations, they would try to mimic them.

I predict in time if Sirius does adopt XM dance, those stations will go downhill to what we have now.

Uhh.. Benny Bennasi, Tiesto, Matt Darey, Ferry Corsten, Robbie rivera , Carl Cox, Jonathan Peters, Johnny Budz, Joe Bermudez just to name a few on XM.

Armando's show is top notch better than trash on The Beat. You have the nerve to call it "Repetitive" as if The Beat is doing anything special except another Pussycat Dolls song(Their only new song latley ) As of matter of fact.. You don't get a mixshow on The Beat anytime of the week except Saturday. Everyone knows that Sirius has the worst dance channels save for a few mixshows on Area..

But Don't worry.... PINK SLIPS ARE COMING

stay tuned

Budz? Bermudez? lol Certainly the others are top shelf.

But BPM has dumped Chris Cox and with The Move being relegated to online only I think Louie Vega, Digweed and Charles Feelgood are gone too.

please keep the System from XM. It is the best trance channel and totally better quality than area 33/38 in every way. the only reason why i have xm is because of MLB and the system!

Air 81 LA on BPM (XM 81) - Final Show This Weekend! (11.08)
Current mood: busy
Category: Music

A quick note for the BPM listeners reading this...

As I'm sure many of you already know, XM and it's primary competitor Sirius are in the process of merging. Unfortunately my weekly mix will no longer be offered as part of BPM's weekly lineup.

I'd like to thank everyone who has tuned in to check out the weekly sets and for the kind words and feedback via email that I've been receiving from many of you for years now. I sincerely appreciate all of the support.

My thanks also go to the staff at BPM for allowing me the opportunity to play such great tunes on a truly national stage for the past four and half years, and extra special thanks to colleague and friend Alan Freed for bringing me into the fold in the first place.

My final Air 81 mixshow for BPM will air this upcoming weekend on 11.08 (late Friday night) @ 1 AM.

If you've subscribed to the podcast of my Air 81 show or check this blog page for new shows each week, rest assured that this weekend's set will NOT be the final installment to be found around here.

New sets in a completely new and hosted format will be appearing here in this blog beginning November 14th. "Stay tuned" as they say...

Best,

- MM
