thanks for the info, and welcome to the forums!

until they get the countdown ready, do you think will start posting the playlist online in the meantime?

So somebody from The Beat is posting here now? Kewl!!

I luv The Beat. It's my fave Sirius dance stream by far and way better than anything that could be found on FM where I live.

Much as I love this stream though, I agree it could benefit from a longer playlist. (Although it seems like the variety of songs they play now has gotten better in the last couple of weeks).

It's a bit late but I'm glad they've started playing "You're So Beautiful" by Donna Summer. That's one of my fave club songs from a few months back but I'd never heard it on The Beat until just this week.

I really enjoy that they play dance hits from the recent past too. If they could further increase the variety of their playlist by adding in even more recent hits as well as stuff from the 90s or even the 80s, that would be awesome!

What would be *really* great is a second Sirius steam that's similar to The Beat, so when The Beat is playing something I don't like, I'd have another dance stream to tune into. (I don't like the other current Sirius dance streams nearly as much as I do The Beat. But I know I'm acting spoiled now).

Hey ranphi !

yeah, the Beat is my favorite dance stream too. At first I kind of stayed away from Planet Dance and the Vortex because they seemed kind of obscure to me.

I'm not nuts about them yet, but I'm liking them more each day. Planet Dance seems to be playing more songs I know and the thing with the Vortex is - this last week they have been the perfect station to listen to as I'm driving to work and the night starts to slowly turn to day. It's perfect music when new day dawns...

ok, that's all for now...I'm getting too poetic.

I love The Beats dance music selection, but I am SICK AND TIRED of the pop remixes. I wanna just break my radio in half everytime Christina Aguilera or Eminem plays on The Beat. I mean come on! What Dance fanatic wants to hear "Without Me" sped up 2X's!

I enjoy the pop remixes and I'd imagine I'm not alone.

What is interesting about The Beat, in addition to playing to the pure dance that all of you love, they also introduce novices into the genre.

Ya, I'm sick of the rap remixes like Eminem too. I mean, Geez that song is old anyways. Same goes with The Missy Elliot Work It Song. They play it like its new.

The Beat should have a weekly mixshow with The Riddler. If WKTU can have him everyday, why not every week on Sirius???? The Riddler is hardly on The Rave. He mixes once a month and you never know when its on! Its just so Random. There needs to be a set time for The Riddler and moved to The Beat because The Beat needs its own mixshow since he mixes mainstream Dance.

And yea, That English guy on Saturday nights is a joke. So he is London playing the same old music. He doesn't have anything clever to say except " I'm partying in London. Here's that J. LO remix you all want!" I don't think anyone is impressed. People would rather have a BEAT mixshow on Saturday nights instead.

Ryan, I thought you were so happy with XM's dance that you'd just be listening to it. You say that in just about every post. How great their dance streams are, so why are you even bothering listening to SIRIUS anymore. Of course, I don't think XM's dance is that good, but that is based on my taste.

I think now more than ever folks from the Beat (and other streams) are open to our suggestions. The Beat and all the dance streams are honestly getting better each and every day. At least they are making strides that XM doesn't seem to be doing.

I also realized that I personally may get a little spoiled....in other words, when you don't have access to the type of music you want, then you suddenly get it - you are ecstatic. Then a few weeks go by, and it's really easy to forget how cool it is, to have it and you start take it for granted a little. I'll admit I can catch myself doing that.

I appreaciate Larry and the others reading our posts, commenting here and being open to positive and negative feedback. I think it's ok to gripe a little, but I got to keep in perspective and realize the good too!
