Default The Vortex SUCKS.....

....up all my listening time! LOL

Ok no joke, since The Vortex switched to Trance, I haven't even turned it off. It's been what, two weeks now? I literally have NOT switched the dial since then.

Am I a freak? Maybe. I am not even a big Trance fan. When I go out and buy a CD at the store, it's always House or Drum n' Bass. But on the radio, Trance sounds SO good for some reason. Just always pumpin', high energy. PERFECT for driving.

Anyways, The Vortex officially is by far my favorite channel on satellite radio of EITHER satellite service.

Now what you folks at Sirius need to do is, gasp, PROMOTE this channel! Tell people about it! Sheesh, do you know how many Trance fans there are out there!? Put "Trance" on the channel guides, the flyer at Best Buy, the web sites, etc. This is a channel that XM does NOT have so it should definetly be all over the promo/guide materials!

LOL, you got me with your title. Yeah, the stream is sounding great. I wonder if we'll be hearing SJ's on this stream soon?

In the meantime, chnage the description to TRANCE already!!

They did the 17 Jam ON change immediately.

Yep, but it WAS done. Whilst they were at it, would it have been that hard to do the Trance thing for Vortex?

Tis not too late...

I am so incredibly happy with The Vortex. I liked it a lot before, but 24 hours of trance is just too awesome.

Hey NeuroRip! Cool to see another Ex-XM listener on here who switched to Sirius for Dance!

I couldn't be happier. What about you? Sirius Dance is everything that XM Dance isn't, and more, especially now with The Vortex. I love how Sirius probably knew that they already had XM beat in Dance, but then went for the jugular and gave us a 24/7 Trance stream. Keep it up Sirius! You know what you're doing. See, changes like this give me faith that at least they know what they are doing, and what improvements they can possibly make in the future. With XM it's like they are a chicken running around without a head. Management is *clueless* when it comes to Dance, and quite frankly, they could care less about it (just look at the channel guide!).

Sirius. Totally. Awesome.

The Vortex is totally sweet. I was getting read to on ya =). But the Vortex blows anything XM has out of the water. You e-mail Blake.Lawrence@xmradio.com and you just get some canned response about how Sirius has only a 2hr loop they play over and over again. Morons at XM.

They seem they want to keep XM more commercial about the music. They want to look good on paper and don't seem about pleasing the listner. They have let their heads get to big.

You can't really call Sirius and say Hey Hey Hey do this. But they seem to listen in other ways. Like the Vortex changed it. They updated their website to look and feel better. Sirius^∞ is always more then Radio^X because X is unkown and if Radio^X where X=0 Radio^0=1 Hmmmm.

Once upon a time K*Mart was king of the retailing hill. Then there was this little company down in Bentonville, Arkanas, a company that K*Mart considered to be no more than a nuisance.

Yes, the world of retailing was far more developed than satellite radio now is, but I think the example may well be instructive. Sirius does seem to be headed where XM isn't.

I agree. A LOT more people know about Sirius now more than ever. Every month that goes by they will have deeper and deeper market penetration, or at least penetration in the mind's of consumers. If they keep touting the "commercial free" aspect to their service and inform people that their competitor isn't, come out with some cool hardware, get Ford on board, and significantly upgrade their SQ past XM which is possible with today's codecs, I honestly think they will eventually be in first place. I think when most people that walk into Best Buy and decide they are going to PAY for radio, and hear that one service has commercials on their music stations and the other doesn't, it will be no contest assuming that both companies have similar hardware available. I think most people want these services to get AWAY from commercials, so this will be a huge selling point for Sirius in the future.

I agree. The first hurdle is for people to pay for radio that used to be free and that is happening with regularity now. Some of those that aren't quite sure or don't know any better will go with the lower price/mo service but a fair percentage of these will be either switch or be dual subscribers within a couple years. I think decision point on service will be made whenever someone considers investing in new hardware. I suspect Sirius will get plenty of XM's churn simply because of the commercial free aspect.

I know I didn't count on having 3 subscriptions when I first got Sirius, but I do since it just grows on you. I think this is the kind of growth Sat radio can look forward to.

Heya Wickman, yes, I remember you and Tristan from the XM boards.

Regarding the commercials, my fiance still has my old XM setup. She says the commercials are getting out of hand. On her stations she actually got 3 different commercials in a row on 3 presets she checked.

I remember when I first got XM, I didn't think the commercials were that bad.. I heard one about every 2 hours. she says she hears multiple commercials per hour now.. I think it's sad that revenue model still works, especially with the choices we all have. We pay 36 more dollars a year for no commercials and I'd honestly pay more.
