Default live dj sets!

How about playing some live sets from dj's all over the country? Not just the ones already submitting mixes. I bet there's a ton of talented dj's who'd love to be able to send in some live sets to have them aired. Of course, I'm gearing this towards the rave dj's, not just the run-of-mill club dj's(the music is already being played).
IMHO, live sets are much better than studio ones. you get to hear the crowd and whatever else happens during the set (people bumping tables, broken needles, power outages).

any thoughts?

LOL ART Got to love the respect we get I love being a "Run Of the Mill". I have submitted a few mixes that were recorded live from clubs. I don't understand what you are trying to get at though?? Is there a specific style of music you want? Also this is radio you do not want to many mess ups on the air.

perhaps "run of the mill" was the wrong term. maybe "less mainstream" would be more appropriate? don't get me wrong, I really like what i'm hearing ( a new subscriber), but i was just trying to see if anyone else would possibly like to hear some other dj sets. I understand while 1 set from another dj takes away a set from you guys. Just trying to invoke a lil more variety to the channel.
why not something special for the lunch hour, morning commute, afternoon drive?
like:
happy hardcore fridays
D&B Thursdays
Two Step Tuesdays
etc...

IMHO, it seems like alot of the stuff on area 63 is being played in alot of your sets meshing the two channels really into on. hence, more variety.
I apologise for offending any of you, its not my intent.

and no i don't want any freestyle. i thnk that should be kept to 61.

Happy Hardcore Fridays?
D&B Thursdays?
Two Step Tuesdays?

...Run of The Mill or "Less Mainstream" as you call it.

I think I figured it out. You are a Underground Bedroom DJ. I see you are a new subcriber considering your DJ background from my guesses I'll forgive you for sounding so nieve.

At one point. Remix//62 used to be called The Rave//62. So it was obvious that they wanted to get away from that word association and what comes with it.

I'm all in favor of new DJ's coming in. We need to keep the channel fresh. However, lets not forget some of the DJ's like Art Rooney, Mike Bordes, Joey Rivaldo, Harry Towers and Angelo Fecci. These are some of the DJ's who have been with the station for over a few years and deserve to be well regarded and well respected. These "Run of the Mill" DJ's are the ones who have taken this channel to the next level. Your big name DJ's are just a added bonus.

So when you mention Happy Hardcore, 2 Step and God knows what else have been dead for years and are not popular enough to be featured with the exception of the occasional Drum & Bass.

We don't mind people sharing opinions on here. This is what the board is for. But when you attack the DJ's and the people who you want to listen to. They aren't going to listen. So please stick with what you know until you've been exposed to Sirius a little longer please. Thanks!

One Big Mook!

WARNING: Lack of cliff notes

no i'm not a "bedroom dj". have i spun before? sure. who hasn't?
so I'm nieve because i was trying to think of a new concept? something fresh? is it becuase it was tried before and didn't work? I can accept that. just say that if you know they did that before. would it be such a bad thing to have a set from a particular genre of dance music payed once in a while at a certain part of the day?
I dont see how bashing me for thinking of an idea is productive.

I took back my "run of the mill" comment, but i guess you missed it in your red mist.
IMO, some of the songs spun seem mainstream. does mainstream=bad, hell no! Its just my opinion.

how are those music styles "been dead for years"? because you don't hear them at your local club/radio station? have you ever been to a party (i don't like the word rave either) it sure doesn't sound like it or you would'nt have made that comment.

Did i attack any of the dj's, no. Did i attack any of their programming skills, no. Did i put anyone down, no. I just offered up my opinion which is "what this board is for".

I like what i'm hearing or i wouldn't be a subscriber, but i'm not going to just sit and say everyone's set was wonderful and perfect just so they'll "listen to me".

Furthermore, "please stick with what you know until you've been exposed to Sirius a little longer please"??

um, checked your post count lately?

I agree there is a need to represent more of a variety of genres on the dance stations. There seems to be an overabundance of trance sets being played, and although many enjoy trance, to me that vessel sailed sometime around the middle of 2000.

I can see two sides of the coin.. On one side, trance is still popular worldwide and acts sort of like a gateway catalyst bringing in new listeners into the EDM arena. On the other hand, there are so many more intelligent beats on the forefront of the underground club and DJs scenes. Sounds like IDM, garage, 2 step, broken beats, dub step, micro house, etc. And to think how very popular deep, soulful house is right now all over the world in the clubs, I'd expect to hear more it being played.

Is it a question of safety? I find it offensive that people will jump all over someone trying to make observations in an open forum. There's so much more intelligent music that could be played on SIRIUS dance radio stations. Anyone with a trained ear that listens to it will know there's something missing - variety.

I disagree there is an mast variety of different genres of dance on Remix I for instance play everything from Freestyle to Tribal house. There has also been D&B sets trance sets and some old school sets. I think Sirius and Remix bost represent all genres of dance excellent. It is very hard to make EVERYONE happy but I think they satisfy the vast majority.

Everything you said is true, but what about the genres I mentioned above?
