Default Freddy Snakeskin on Area 63 and more repetition crap

Not sure if he is just doing a filler or two around lunch, or if he is on throughout the day (not sure since I can't stomach the repetition,) but I've heard him on two days in a row.

Speaking of repetition, look at this disgusting piece of CRAP playlist from yesterday! http://tinyurl.com/asz3d

Look at all of the 4 and 5 song blocks that is repetition gone crazy. This station truly and utterly SUCKS now.

202 spins yesterday. Out of those 202 spins, 131 spins were songs that were repeated 3 or more times. 45 spins, or nearly 25%, were the same stinking 9 songs spun 4 times a day. Almost 20% of the remaining spins were the same 7 songs repeated FIVE times a day. So a measly 16 songs were spun 80 times a day... yes over 40% of the music played yesterday was the same 16 songs. Wow!

So, in response to my latest finding, I fire off my, oh.. let's say, 13th or 14th email to them regarding programming.

Please do me the favor of reading this before you toss this in the trash and send me a generic customer service email, PLEASE! I apologize for the tone of this email, but I am absolutely sick of sending in emails, calling customer support just to get placated by some generic email saying “We’re listening!” Baloney!

My god, it is sickening how bad this station has become. Somehow we’ve turned into a top 20 “trance” station and I use the word trance word lightly.

You wanted feedback, well here it is. I’ve been a Sirius subscriber for almost two years now. I can tell you what though; I switched from XM because of all of the dance selections. I’m about ready now to cancel my two Sirius subs and switch back because of the utter crap that is on Area 63 now. The repetition is almost as bad as our “hits” dance station, 66.

Please, save our Area 63 from the absolute bore fest it has become. Just last Thursday I was in my car three times for a total of about 30 minutes each. In that hour and a half, I heard “808” THREE times.

Get a clue with this station and bring someone in who can do more than read a Billboard top 20 list and hit shuffle 4 or 5 times. It’s sickening how this station is getting run into the ground. My guess is that you want to drive away listeners so you can drop the channel and make room for something else. In the meantime, you will lose my subscriptions, because it’s hard to stomach the rampant repetition of what used to be a kick ass stream.

God I wish we could have the good old days with The Vortex, Billy Hammond, Victor Dinaire… you are ruining this stream! Thank god for Boombox, it’s the only thing that is keeping me around. Talk to Liquid Todd if you want to know how to do a station.

Extremely disgruntled Sirius subscriber (and recent MyFi purchaser)

I feel your pain but no one will listen. I have given up. I am just waiting for my one year pre-paid subscription to end so I can either switch to XM or maybe just get an IPOD. I have 120GB of dance music and probably get more up to date tracks on weekly basis than Sirius does every six months. It's sad but it is what it is.

Default Yup, i'm done as well

I am so glad my antenna fried on my Sirius unit. It was going to be hard to spend the money on XM, but since i was going to have to spend some anyway, i had them rip out the Sirius and put in XM. After 10 days with XM now, i'm glad i did.

I can listen to The System 82 all day in the truck. They play about 60 % Trance, about 30% Chill, and about 10% Beats and Breaks (not a scientific count, just what it seems like to me). Very seldom will i hear a repeat in the 11-12 hours i listen. They drop in an ID about every three songs. They have special programs just about every night. Is it everything i could possibly want in a station? No. But for the first time since we lost the Vortex, my satelite radio experience is more entertaining than annoying. The Move 80, also has some interesting programs. I've just now started exploring the rock channels, but so far i like what i hear (or don't hear, to be more accurate...tons of repeats and voiceovers).

I will miss a few things about Sirius...Robbie Rivera, Judge Jules, George Acosta...the Friday night Remix lineup mostly. And I'll miss Liquid Todd. But the music that brings me the most enjoyment is Trance, and i want to be able to listen all day to it if i choose to. You just can't do that on Sirius. You can on XM. With 6 dance channels to Xm's 4, Sirius should be the obvious choice for dance. But unless you're main music is Beats and Breaks, or unless you only listen 20 minutes at a time (and why lay out the initial cost of a receiver for a few minutes a day?) it just isn't. Sirius is about looking good to the non subscriber, to convince them to subscribe. They would rather make sure that the 50 people listening at any given time that aren't subscribers like what they hear for 5 minutes, than please 5000 people listening who are subscribers that may want to listen for a few hours.

So i'm done writing letters. I'm done bitching on SBS. And, even with less dance choices, there is less bitching on XMfan.com than on SBS in the Dance forum. Maybe, because, even though XM does less, what they do do, they do better. It really is a shame. I wanted to support the underdog, i really did. But if i never hear the accented Remix bitch interupting the flow of a mix, or the Area 63 screaming guy again, it'll be too soon.
