NICE.

Remix 62 is gonna have to step up a notch on the weekends with these Radio 1 dance shows. I think I'll be listening to channel 97 Saturday night.

Yes, some of the Ibiza sets on Friday during regular Radio One programming wer amazing!

It is shocking to me that a nationwide radio network , paid for by tax payers money, is some much on the cutting edge of Dance music. In the USA this would be akin to us all tuning to NPR for the best in dance music !

Default Does Sirius have permission to use other BBC1 programs?

They've already put Pete Tong's Essential Mix & Jules Jones on Remix. Could they place some other programs on their dance stations to heighten their appeal?

Example: The Blue Room is an excellent chill-out/ambient electronica show but it comes on at 5 in the morning?! Why can't Sirius re-broadcast it later in the day on Chill64 at 7:00 p.m.? The channel would Finally have a current, ongoing show!

That;s a good point, The Blue Room is perhaps the best show on Radio One, it would work well on Chill64.

It wasn't overhyped. Most people that were excited to get Radio 1 added have been listening online for years, myself included.

The USA is actually a bit of an oddity in terms of broadcasting. In most countries broadcasting developed in a "public service" model paid by licence fees rather than as a commercial service for profit. The predominant commercial nature of radio/television in the USA is actually the exception rather than the rule if you look at broadcasting worldwide! The vast majority of broadcasting in the world is done by public service broadcasters

I enjoy both House and Trance, so I'm pretty much in heaven. I'll give it a listen, thanks for the heads up!

Tonight is convincing me more and more of what a great addition BBC Radio 1 was to Sirius. Glad to see they aren't just adding hick-stations like Margaritaville but something for us as well.
