Default Anyone concern we will loose a Dance channel next month?

Nothing is safe and thats including the dance channels. With them trying to squeeze in Stern and Candaian channels, I'm worried one or more of our dance channels will get deleted soon. We have no idea how the dance channels rate on their independent researches. I'm guessing the following are the most popular and least popular one might not be around.

1. The Beat
2. Strobe
3. Chill
4. Remix
5. Area 63
6. Boombox

I say if we had to lose a dance stations for the incoming ones there should be a merger or dance stations.
I don't know how many people would like this but I do not think it would be bad if Area 63, Boombox, and Remix merged into one stream if they picked a dance satation.
Think about it. You would hear less repeats, get the best of all three stations. Play the singles and such from Boombox and Area 63 and throw in the DJ mixes from Remix. I think it would be smashing.

No I like having the Beat and Remix totally seperate. As long as the Beat and Remix remain in the Sirius dance lineup I will remain a Sirius subscriber if either leave I will be looking to the competitor as will many other dance fans. Remix and the Beat are the only upper hand Sirius has in the dance lineup over XM. Remix is king XM can not top a 24/7 mix channel with such a great lineup.

They could air the Remix mixshows on The Beat and Area 63 which would mean it "merges" to both channels. Stuff like Judge Jules/Swedish Egil could go on 63 and stuff like Louie DeVito/Riddler could go on the Beat. I know people want to close their eyes about this subject but I never get too comfortable. I hope the lineup stays the change but be prepared. I say theres a 50 percent chance a dance channel will be deleted. The best worst case scenerio for me would be just Boombox biting the bullet.

Default Yeah, I'm worried!

Here's how I think the dance channels rank in popularity:

1. The Beat
2. Remix
3. The Strobe
4. Area 63
5. Chill
6. Boombox

If Boombox were taken out of the line-up I wouldn't miss it. I do wish Boombox were changed into a classic dance station if there's enough bandwidth to keep all the dance stations in the line-up. Or they could put Classic dance specialty shows featuring music from '85-'99 on the Strobe.

I would be severely ticked off if they dumped remix or lumped it with some other station...I don't mind the mixes repeating at all...especially if they're good ones!

I agree with the above posts. I hope none of the dance channels get axed, but if one does, I would prefer it to be "Boombox" that goes. I would also have to guess that "Boombox" would be the least listened to of the dance channels. (Personally, "the Strobe" would be my choice to dump if I had to cut one, but they won't dump the disco channel). But if one has to go, I hope its either "Boombox", "Chill" or "the Strobe". If "the Beat", "Area 63" or "Remix" gets cut, I will be upset.

If the Beat or Remix go so do I. Those are two of the best station I have ever heard please Sirius get rid of Boombox or Chill if you must remove a dance channel.

Here is my Favorite Dance Stations
1. Area 63
2. Remix 62 (Specific Shows Only, for the most part this station is so so)
3.TheBeat 66 (Remove it from my 1 present no longer on any present..)
This station has gotten too POP -- Britney Spears, BackStreet Boys, Black Eye Peas + Many Many Other Crap... This station should be remodel...This station aint what it use to be when I first sign up back in 2003..

Boombox can go away for all I care
Strobe can go away ...
Chill no comment(has not grown on me at all)

So For the most part .. they can cut all the 3 above channels!!

:\ i will not be happy if we lose remix or the Beat.
If anything , i really think Boombox and Area 63 would be a nice merge if done correctly.

I personally listen only to Area 63 and The Beat. If they axe all other dance channels, I wouldn't notice.
Then again, if they add a channel like XM's BPM, and/or Classic Dance channel, they would be my favourites.

Default Sirius Please Don't Delete ANY Dance Channels

I couldn't imagine sirius axing Remix, Area 63, The Beat, or the Strobe and keeping Boombox. This station just plain DOES NOT belong in the dance category mainly because of all the hip-hop it plays. I don't think there is enough listenership to warrant it a 24/7 format. I would be in favor of getting a 24/7 New Age channel, similar to Audio Visions on XM. Sirius lacks one of these channels. As has been said on here before, Boombox should be merged with Backspin 43 in some sort of way.

While I would LOVE it if sirius made Boombox a Classic Dance channel from '85-2000, I don't think it's gonna happen with all these foreign channels being added! But sirius does need to play more classic dance and have some classic dance shows in addition to the MicMak Attack on Remix. Wouldn't a classic dance channel burn out fast with listeners? Maybe not if done right with little repetition.

Maybe Chill should be taken out of the lineup and New Age replaces it? I'm not impressed with Sirius idea of Chill Music. This channel is too rock oriented!

Default Does BBC 1 Influence Sirius to Delete a Dance Channel?

With BBC 1 on Sirius now, I'm sure the fine folks at Sirius are eyeing the dance category for a deletion or two. Especially knowing the fact that Judge Jules airs a show on Remix and one on BBC 1 (hope they realize these are different shows) AND the fact that Pete Tong does the same. I hope they aren't feasting their eyes on deleting Remix...that would be the DUMBEST move!!! But as I've said, I'm sure the dance category is now sticking out like a sore thumb to the sirius folks!!!!!

Default Chill must stay!

I love Chill...I have it bookmarked and I listen to it all the time. If Boombox or Area 63 were to go I woudln't miss them. I think a merge of those two channels would be great. Just don't touch Remix or Chill.
