your knowledge of dance is sadly limited. breaks and electronica are very much a genre of dance. not hearing the style often in the US doesn't mean it's not dance music. ever heard of Timo Maas, DJ X, Paul Oakenfold, Fatboy Slim, Chemical Brothers, even the Blue Man Group?
yes, i know they play hip-hop and i will agree that isn't dance. however, if you have listened to the channel lately, they play a hip-hop tune once every 5 songs. that's something like 20% of the time, which cannot reflect the whole channel.
yes, i also agree the Grandmaster show does not belong. if ever, it should be in Wax or Backspin. but it's only 3 hours a week, and i simply stay off the channel during the time and listen to Judge Jules instead.

I've seen many contradicting opinions about Chill and especially Boombox deserving or not the honour of dedicated channel, but I don't recall a single poster here who does not agree on the mentioned 3 issues. How more constructive can we be so that the dance programmers listen?
Agreed 100% seems simple to me.

I was never a fan of Remix or Chill... and at first I hated Boombox, but lately it's has become one of my favorites. If Remix is gone but those DJ mixes are split up among the remaining dance stations then I'm OK with that. It will be especially nice to hear that stuff on the Beat since it's pretty repetitive now and sounds way too top-40 to me.

As a big classic dance fan I'm intrested to hear how the "new" Strobe sounds.

The one thing that does upset me is another "faith-based" channel :\ WTF?!? Why does Sirius waste it's bandwidth with this junk? Are they trying to impress people with this kind of programming to balance out all the hip-hop and Howard Stern stuff? Add to this the new censorship on some channels and it reeks of the same corporate BS and FCC junk that has screwed up land-based local radio over the last few years.

After reading alot of this I can't help be laugh really hard.

Most of you started listening to music less than 10 years ago and for sure less than 20 years ago, so that makes you some sort of expert on dance music, music culture and how good or bad dj's are.

New England? Hardly a mecca for dance music and given the quality of DJ's around the world, I can get a gig just about anyplace by kissin somebody's butt or knowing a certain promotor.

Hardly special.

Then everybody starts naming off DJ's that started in the game not even 5 years ago and almost all of them are under 30.

Have I mentioned how EASY IT IS TO MIX HOUSE in general? Yikes, never presented me a problem and unlike alot of new age DJ's that like to piegon hole themselves, I can play it all brotha.

For those reasons I mostly listen to Remix on Sunday afternoon just for SoulfulFunky House, which was the way House was ment to be before the Euros got ahold of it and changed it forever and not so much for the better.

If I wanted to listen to worn out Trance I don't even need Siruis for that...

I am a DJ and have been since 1986 and I have been in the clubs and been on the radio and all that. I don't claim to be an expert, Im not but all this whinning is silly. Ive been listening to Remix since I picked up Sirius earlier this year, so you can't blame me for its demise.

They had too many new school DJ's on there and repeated the same mixes over and over again.

Unlike most of you, I drive trucks and I have to listen to something 10-12 hours a day.

Remix is gone because only a handful supported it. How many of you have actually told somebody else to pick up Sirius just for this channel and the many other great channels on Sirius?

Im disapointed but I understand it as well.

I too have been a DJ since 1985 and have listen to and played everything from old house, old club, disco, hip-hop, breaks, etc etc etc. in fact, I own and run a dj company as well as work for several ones. I have Djd in clubs as well as college parties etc. I hope the music played on sunday gets played on other stations...

See I must disagree here the mixers on Remix were some of the BEST I have every heard if you guys are such great Djays why weren't you on Remix??? That show on Sundays was one of the worst shows I have every heard I felt like I was listening to Wax. I liked the music selection but the djays were horrible.

What was wrong with the sunday show? it was OLD SCHOOL House and club which is were a lot of the new music comes from. I do agree that the DJ's who were on remix were some of the best. who cares how old they are and how long they have been a DJ. I know people that have been a DJ for as long as I have and they are not even 1/2 the quality of some of the NEW DJ's we hear.

I had no problem with the Sunday show other than it being on the wrong channel. Boombox is supposed to be old-school, Remix is supposed to be mixing.

Are we talking bout the soulfoul house show or the house party in general?? I enjoyed house party but the soulful house show was horrendous they djays talked over songs in a unprofessional manner and had shout outs and spoke like they were on hip hop nation.

DAMMIT! I got my radio a month ago and listened mainly to remix. What they played on there wasn't like anything on Area 63.

It's not the same anymore...I really miss it. Donno what else to say...very VERY disappointed.
I want all of the units dammit!

Ive stoped listeining to remix and other EDM stations a long time ago. The actual variety on this sucks in my opinion. There is way too much cheese house and shit trance and bullshit progressive it makes me want to puke. Where the hell is the real music? And for some of the DJs on remix are good, but it was way tooo plain and lacked actual heart. A majority of the mixes posted on there were built in programs and not mixed live. How are you gonna call yourself a DJ if you cant even lay down a clean 30 min mix? JUKEBOX ANYONE??? This was comming for a long time. And the people commenting on everyone wants to be a DJ.. woopty fawkin dooooo. does it bother you that much that people have a hobby or passion that they can enjoy? And who gives a shit that a particular DJ is not on the radio. Does that make him/her less of a DJ that they arnt on the radio?? Most of us could care less for that shit.
