Default Here's Something I Noticed

I've been to the other message boards in the other genres since the channel changes were announced and there is LITTLE if NO complaints about what channels they're losing.

On the hip-hop/R&B messageboard there is only ONE upset person about Wax 42 and Slow Jamz 50 getting deleted.

On the Jazz messageboard there are no complaints about Swing Street being removed.

On the more generic messageboards, there are some people upset about these channels getting deleted. So far, the number of complaints about Remix being deleted FAR OUTNUMBERS the other deletions! It's like 100 to 1 (not serious, but probably close!). Either we dance fans are more vocal than other groups of fans or they just haven't gotten the news yet.

Everyone, let Sirius know your thoughts on this, use the forum on their website:

If there was one thing that might make me dump Sirius, it's losing Remix. It's by far the best dance channel and what makes them better than XM.

Mikebny: Your show is one of my favorites.

Default Mourning Loss Of Remix

As I said in another thread those of us who love dance music and gotten lost on the floor with a brilliant DJ mixing will miss Remix. Ill also miss Wax but Remix was so good! Hopefully this means Area 63 will get some good mix shows and the playlist will get deeper and the rotation wont be so heavy. I cant belive they are keeping boombox! I am so sick of the censorship and the sharing of songs across channels if they deepen playlists and stay genre specfic they will have some very loyal listeners. Making it FM over satallite is the quickest way to alienate us. Make some noise dont go down without a fight! Where are all the old skewl ravers at?!

They can't get rid of all the mixshows, so hang in there. If they did they would not be able to compete with XM. Dance music seems to be in a little lull right now, but I think it will pick up. We need to keep emailing Sirius to let them know that there is an audience for dance music on Sirius...Let's not give up and don't throw your receivers out the window!

You know I feel alittle guilty because I brought up merging Remix into the other channels with my Possible lineup changes scenrio on this message board last month... Didn't know they actually were thinking of doing it for real. Before everyone gets their panties in a knot, please think postitive. Like I mentioned, they most likely will put mixshows on Beat, Area,Strobe and Boombox. We will have less repeats because of this. Also note they did take in consideration our requests for Strobe being reformatted to Classic Dance mixed with Disco (another heavy topic recently) which could make The Beat much more current intensive with no freestlyle & mixshows.

If they create 2 powerful dance stations on The Beat and Area 63, from what they are now, think BPM but better, I would definitley stick around. In my opinion, they should make up for mixshows every day across the dance channels. The Beat and Area 63 MUST have continuous mixshows on the weekend nights.

If I had it my way, Remix would still be here and Boombox would be gone. Me thinks the reason Boombox is still on the lineup is because its a personal favorite of a certain someone over Remix. Not fair.

I hope they keep the DJs. I will die without my Monsta.

BTW, check out my thread in Sirius Music and post your frustrations there. We need to let everybody know about this.

I think and hope Sirius will spread the DJs around - If they did that, it would be a good compromise. Right now we have a lot of dance channels, but few real shows in the programming lineup - especially compared to XM's dance channels. e.g., Area 63 has basically one show - Dusk til Dawn; Chill has nothing listed on its webite; etc. So, if they can beef up the programming lineup (mixshows, etc.) within the remaining channels using the displaced DJs, then overall the dance lineup may be somewhat improved despite the loss of Remix. That is, if we improve all the other dance channels, but lose Remix, then that's a compromise I can live with.

But for sure listeners need to keep the pressure on Sirius to do this.

I too agree that Boombox is the personal favorite of that someone we all know at Sirius who is in charge of the dance channels. If this is true, then it's very unfair and selfish to us. They should have done some research to see what other channels the Boombox listeners listen to. I bet the vast majority of Boombox listeners mainly listen to the hip/hop R&B channels and rock (actually I pretty much know this from reading posts on here). The only other dance channel these people touch might be Chill.

I'm SO TIRED of seeing us true dance fans constantly getting screwed out of our music and having to move aside for programming that doesn't appeal to us (like Boombox and Chill). It happened on FM for so many years and now I guess it's gonna start on satellite radio too!

Default Another Alternative

Merge Area 63 and The Beat and make it similar to what BPM is over at XM and keep Remix. No way in hell this will happen though!

I will accept a compromise as long as they keep the great mixers Louie DeVito, Art Rooney, Joey Rivaldo, Mike Bordes, Angelo Fecci, Judge Jules. If any of these guys go so will I. I listened to Remix everyday from the minute I got in my car til the minute I went to bed. If a DJ came on I didn't like I switched the station certain mixers I can do without Ray Roc, Ivano Bellini, Monsta, Gabriel and Dresden, Darude, and the soulful funky house show. I can see Gabriel and Dresden and Darude going to Area 63 but the rest should be removed. Sirius please listen to your paying subscribers or lose them to XM.
