I enjoyed Jeremy Martorano's mix show on Tuesday evenings. I normally prefer the more trance leaning mixes, but his house mixes were always really good and fun. I hope Sirius considers keeping Jeremy's mixes on somewhere.

Default Don't Give Up

Read some other threads on here guys. Call and e-mail sirius still...call the internal number and e-mail everyone at sirius! Justin Testa is right...XM DOES NOT COMPARE to Sirius (as long a Remix is around). With Remix gone, XM will have 3 true dance channels while sirius will have two...UNFAIR! I still think Todd and Blatter are behind this one...they want to keep what THEY like and created...their babies...Boombox and Chill!

Default Eliminating Dance Channels,

Does everyone see what happening here. If you look at the dance lineup a few years ago they had like 5 REAL dance channels, they took away House Party, Rave and Vortex. Left us with The Beat, Area 63, and Remix. Now they take Remix.. What happens next eliminate Area 33 and The Beat and leave us with chill and boombox, which are awfle

Thats before Steve Blatter and Liquid Todd came last year to ruin the dance lineup with Boombox and Chill.

I bought my first goddam Sirius tuner just because of REMIX 62. I love the 24 hour non stop mixing.Charles FeelGood,Danny Tsetos, MIC MAC ATTACK-- I love these shows. Especially Sundays from 12pm to 12am. I live for these shows. REMIX 62 is the least trancey station on Sirius and I love that. SIRIUS program director needs to be FIRED if this is true !!

Default Lynch Mob!

Wow.

Looks like a riot going on in here. I hadn't checking in to the forum for a while but when I went to work last week I heard there was an angry mob here and that ya'll were about to march down to Sirius and string me up.

I see a lot of angry postings from people in here and I understand why people are pissed off but this LA guy wants to get me fired? Damn. That's cold.

I just wanted to set the record straight on a couple of things. First of all I had nothing to do with Remix getting cancelled. In fact when Sirius management was looking to cut a dance station last year I stuck up for Remix and we managed to save it from the chopping block.

I'm sorry to see ANY of our dance channels go away. I've always been very proud of our diverse lineup. Also I want to say that I think Howard Marcus has done an amazing job building Remix into a top-notch radio station. Of course it's funny because I remember when people on this board were trying to get HIM fired - so I guess I'm in good company.

Unfortunately I don't get to decide what stations are added and which are deleted. All I can do is work as hard as possible to make the channels I DO work on as good as I can make them.

And I listen to the calls we get and read my e-mail (eventually!). I even check in here from time to time to see if there are constructive comments - and I've gotten some good feedback from certain members of this board who have written thoughtful, intelligent posts about how to make Sirius better.

Of course most Sirius employees don't read siriusbackstage and I don't blame 'em. There's just too much negativity to absorb sometimes and some of the people here are just haters. Hell I haven't seen this level of vitriol here since we launched Chill and Boombox and this is the first time (I think) that I've heard of anyone trying to get me fired.

Anyway. That's all I wanted to say. I haven't read all of the commments but I understand why people are upset. You have every right to complain and I strongly disagree with those who say we don't listen to what you have to say. Your comments - especially those that are polite and well-written - DO get read by those in charge. If enough people make their voices heard you might be surprised by the results.

That's all I wanted to say. I hope everyone had a kickass holiday weekend. Ok. Flame away!

I'd have to agree that the people calling for the removal of Boombox and/or Chill, the removal of certain DJs, etc. are shooting themselves in the foot. I'd be concerned that, when the axe next falls, those stations and DJs go as well due to all the negative feedback - and get replaced with nothing, further diminishing the electronic/dance lineup.

You know, I'm not sure we need a breaks-only station over a more general dance station, or a house-oriented station. But I'll be damned if I'm going to call for the removal of Boombox. Better to push Sirius to expand the styles of music played on a given station then telling them to get rid of stations altogether.

Furthermore, Chill is a nice, unique station. I enjoy its music. I've seen Chill-appreciation posts on Sirius boards. I've even seen Chill-envy posts on XM boards. I think there is a role for it in the Sirius lineup.

By all means, push Sirius to play more songs, more artists, and more genres. Push it to improve its dance programming, add more shows, whatever. But scorched-earth "nuke this channel" or "fire this DJ"-type feedback is wholly counterproductive.

Let's face it - we're not getting a replacement channel for Remix. So push to improve/expand other channels.

I am considering a hostile stock take over of Sirius corporate. I have the funds to purchase over 51% of their stock. If I do, believe me, those powers at be who have decided 62s fate will be looking for a job in a heartbeat. I will clean house at corporate. I will humblie wait and see if they execute this.

It doesn't take more than 15 minute eading ib this section to see what the overwhelming majority of people want:

1. A classic dance channel (not Strobe)
2. Remixes on other channels after Channel 62's mysterious sudden death.
3. A real contemporary dance hit station like XM's BPM, and not like the current Beat.
I've seen many contradicting opinions about Chill and especially Boombox deserving or not the honour of dedicated channel, but I don't recall a single poster here who does not agree on the mentioned 3 issues. How more constructive can we be so that the dance programmers listen?
