Default Response from Sirius RE: deletion of Remix 62

Dear Michael,

Thanks for getting in touch with us regarding Remix // Ch. 62. We
always appreciate
comments from our subscribers. In our effort to deliver un-compromised
coast-to-coast
music and entertainment for your car and home, we enhance our music and
entertainment line-up from time to time. This round of changes are a
direct result of feedback from listeners like you. And it's just the
latest way we're making sure that SIRIUS remains the premier satellite
radio service.

You will still be able to hear all of the dance grooves from Remix//
Ch.
62 on Area 63 //
Ch. 63, Boombox // Ch. 61 and The Beat // Ch. 66. For "mixed" dance
music, check out the DJ specialty shows on Shade 45 // 45.

Default I Got a PERSONALIZED Response...Check it out!

Here is the letter I wrote:
To Whom It May Concern:

Whenever channels get deleted, there will always be a group of people
that are upset. Sometimes it's a small group of people and other times
it's a sizeable group. An example of this is when Soundscapes was
deleted a LARGE group of people complained about this for a long time
and they were apparently heard as New Age is getting its own channel
back. Another example is when The Vortex (trance music) was replaced
with Chill. People kept complaining and Area 63 was tailored to trance
music.

I've been on siriusbackstage a lot lately and have heard a large number
of peoples requests. In the dance genre, a large number of people were
wanting Boombox either deleted from the lineup or moved to the hip-hop
category or merged with Backspin 43. Well, A LARGE NUMBER of us were
shocked to see Boombox stay and Remix 62 to get deleted. Remix is the
most popular or at least the second most popular dance channel. A
LARGE
NUMBER of us are upset this is being deleted. It was my #1 preset and
the reason why I chose sirius over XM because I felt they had this
channel and XM didn't have it. On the siriusbackstage.com
messageboards
I notice very few people upset about the other deletions, but LOTS of
people are raging mad over the deletion of Remix. I THINK SIRIUS NEEDS
TO LISTEN TO THESE COMPLAINTS AND RECONSIDER KEEPING REMIX!!!! Dance
music is hard to find on FM radio and thats why we came to Sirius.
There are 5 dance channels left and 3 of them don't appeal to true
dance
music
fans. That leaves only two channels for true dance fans and it's
unfair. Deleting Remix is like deleting the whole rock category and
keeping maybe 2 of the channels. There is also a rumor going around
that Liquid Todd programs Boombox and Chill and is in charge of
programming for the dance channels and that Boombox is his baby. Well,
if that's true, he and Sirius need to realize they're not best serving
their dance music listeners. Boombox plays old school and hip-hop and
therefore should belong in the hip-hop category as I've said before.

Why not merge other channels such as Starlite and Movin' Easy to free
up
a channel for Remix?

I cannot say it enough...RECONSIDER KEEPING REMIX! A LOT OF US WANT
IT!

Thanks

I got this response by e-mailing customer care rather than the programming department. I've sent e-mail to several sirius addresses (all that I can find which is a few). Maybe this is why they responded to me personally.

That reply is such a JOKE. So bascially SiriusBackstage is nothing to them. They don't read this forum @ all and could give a steaming pile about what is posted here.

That is GREAT. They have an awesome fan site and don't pay attention ?

maby some of the DJs come to this board but I don't think the higher up's really give a care about it. They get all theri information from E-Mails.
They also check the ratings on the web player to see which station is popular and which is not.
Don't act like every opinon about Sirius is on this board alone.

Sirius does know this board exists, but it is not the main source that they base there decisions off of. Not to knock this site, the moderators, or the users but we are a small percentage to the remaining subscribership base. The reply you got was from a clueless CSR that does not even know the lineup is changing!- This is another reason to not put 100% into the communication that is received from customer service- It's hit or miss on each CSR. which is the same with most companies.

On a side note- I looked at the Sirius website and noticed that there are remix shows as part of the OutQ music weekend.- (Just offering a suggestion- Hopefully Sirius will reconsider Remix and then they will bring it back with a new name

Lower bandwith than the music channel. I can't not stand to listen to it because of this. I can't imagine many people who put up with the sq. Its a pointless to have music on there at such awful quality.

One thing to remember, the customer service representatives have NO power to change the channel lineup. I'd suggest keeping the emails and phone calls polite and civil. They may have some discretion when it comes to billing matters and such, but they can't wave a magic wand and do something with the channel lineup.

Man, that last statement is laughable! "For mixed dance music, check out the DJ specialty shows on Shade 45". PLEASE!! Anyone who thinks that what Shade 45 plays is "dance" music obviously has no clue what you are even talking about anyway.
