I have noticed that Chill is playing more electronic tracks than before Sept 29th. I think the "acoustic" tracks have moved to The Coffee House, and the "new age" tracks have moved to Spa 73. Previously, electronica/acoustic/light rock/new age were all played on Chill...now that we have expanded generes, it's more electronica.

Anyone else notice this?

Most people that like chill best don't really like dance music and don't really add much to the discussion. Its like having a rap station in the ROCK catagory and claiming its the best rock stream.

Yeah sort of like most die hard dance fans can't agree on any two or three things without disagreeing. No wonder you guys can't get what you want.

I think most dance fans are looking for strictly trance. Have 2 SOLID trance channels and most dance fans will shut up. Heck, have 1 solid trance channel for starters.

Why would we need 2 trance stations??...your way out of it. Please tell me what have been said here about the recent channel changes that doesn't make sense to you. If you actually agree with sirius latest decisions in dance, please let me know what is so great now, compared to what it was and what it could be. what we are doing here is only suggesting things, and it seems to me that most people here agree. I thought we all agreed on ONE trance channel, ONE house channel and ONE mainstream dance hits channel. It's really that simple.

Canning remix peeves me off like everyone else. The reason for many of the hostile comments about "chill" has to do with the fact that it replaced many peoples favorite channel "The Vortex". It was my favorite as well.

The latest change simply removed another dance channel without replacing it with anything else. I just wish dance music had a fifth the representation that rock has. Too many rock stations.

I initially liked Chill, but after listening for a few hours at work, it seems like they have about 6 CD's worth of music on permenant shuffle. I still tune back every now and then, but yeah, not really what an electronic/dance fan would think of for their category.

This segmentation and "in fighting" is definately one reason that dance has remained underground and relegated to internet radio, etc.
But I do think there is one decision that Sirius could make that would please the most dance fans. As was mentioned above; if they would simply create one all trance channel (all kinds of trance from pop/vocal/euro hits to harder instrumental trance), one house channel (from progressive to older house), and one mainstream dance hits channel (like "the Beat".)
That way, everyone would be able to have their own specific genre in one place whenever they wanted. If you had the channel space, you could also include an all breakbeat and drum and bass channel (like "Boombox" without the hip hop). This simple change would not require more channels, and would make the most people happy. Granted, it may not be seen as progress or "healthy" that the seperate styles of dance have to be so segregated from each other, and it doesn't lend itself well to ever advancing dance more toward mainstream; but it would make most of the current dance fans happy and give them what they want.
If they simply want to really serve the hardcore dance fans without trying to draw others in; they need 1 all trance channel, 1 all house channel, 1 dance hits channel, and 1 breakbeat/drum and bass channel. Each could have their own specialty mixers and shows devoted to nothing but that type of music. You could either keep or remove "Chill" and "the Strobe" because neither really seem to generate that much interest or support from the hardcore dance fans.
