Chill.... is not exactly what I expected. I generally like it but it plays a fair amount of music I don't think fits. For one I hear Cold Play on Chill and often it doesn't seem to fit. The first thing that came to mind when I saw Chill on the channel listings was, Miles Davis, In a Silent Way. Spa 73 actually seems to be more of what I expected to hear on Chill. I listen to both. If I want some music to fall asleep to I usually choose Spa 73 because Chill throws in some music that jars a bit at sleepy time.

I tend to agree here...

Chill was one of the stations I really enjoyed when I joined Sirius almost a year ago. The mix reminded me a lot of "Mornings Become Eclectic" in L.A. But while that show is constantly evolving and changing, the Chill play list sounds remarkably like the one I first heard back in January. Chill dips both into Electronica and Ambient; that covers a lot of ground and should cover a lot of cd's.

Still one of my presets, but I wish they would update a bit...

You guys are right with me on this one. When i joined back in 03 chill came on at just the right time. I loved it. Now, almost in the passed 6 or so months I hardly listen to sirius or chill at all. Back it listening to my own stuff and somafm.com

Default I Disagree

First of all, Chill replaced the best ever Trance channel...The Vortex. This was a DUMB move sirius made. I'm not a big fan of Chill music, but I know what to expect when I hear it, and I'm very disappointed in what sirius has to offer on this channel. There's too much downtempo rock. I find myself listening to Spa 73 over this channel. Spa 73 (aka Soundscapes is the best). Sirius dump the Chill channel and just have a Chill specialty show on Spa 73. Save the bandwidth for a true dance channel (like REMIX).

Now that we have a New Age channel back and Sirius has fied its Soundscapes snafu, it really does kind of make Chill redundant. There is some great smooth electronic music out there, but it could fit as one poster said, on a speacilty show on spa73. The downtemp rock that gets played on chill already has a home now on Coffee House.

you know now I do kind of resent some of the shit they are playing.. I'm fucking sick of hearing Coldplay on here- god damnit, I tune into this station to hear good electronica & ambient, not that college yuppy VH1 Barnes & Noble soft alternative bullshit.. keep that shit on Coffeehouse!

also, I noticed they played a Black Eyed Peas song last night- again, ELECTRONICA and AMBIENT, not top 40 pop bullshit!

still like the station, they just need to lay off some of that stuff

Nothing wrong with the Chill, Spa, Beat, or Area 63. They're all good channels in their own respects. Sure sometimes they all play music that doesn't exactly fit, but it's hardly painful. They're also all presets on all units I own.

Sure they could combine Chill and Spa together (to an extent), but it's just nicer having the segregation. There are subtle differences between the two, yet sometimes noticeable enough to make me want to change the channel to the other.

Just my two cents.

Right on... Those are on my presets too. My other stations are Octane, Buzzsaw, Hair Nation, Alt. Nation... and some talk...

Funny, I logged on just now for the very reason of sending a little "big up" and drawing a bit of attention to the Chill channel. Nice to see three pages already.

Default Chill really sucks

I can't believe SIRIUS kept CHILL but deleted REMIX 62. The program director needs to be drug tested immediately! P.S: That's OK, my subscription runs out in February 2006. After that, I'm bolting over to XM where they haven't dumped on their dance music fans like SIRIUS did when they deleted REMIX 62.

I don't understand why you all are complaining. There's NO problems with ANY of the channel lineups that both Sirius and XM provide. If you don't like it, there's always that ancient alternative called...

:gasp:

CD!

Or, even more ancient, how about that FM RADIO!

That is, if you don't mind changing a damn CD out every hour or so, or listening to 20 minutes of radio per 40 minutes of commerical every hour.

Chill is the main reason I signed w. Sirius over XM. I  that station.
