Default Gap Between BPM and The Beat is Widening

As of the past few days, I've noticed a significant change in BPM on XM. The music being played has a lot more energy to it and so do the mixshows. I hope they keep this up. I'm usually not a big listener of BPM, but if they keep up what they're doing now I'll listen to XM more. It must have to do with the new PD they brought on to BPM this week. The Beat still stinks. No mixshows, to many pop/hip-hop remixes, and too much jocktalk about non-dance stuff. The Beat is NOT a place for dance fans. The Beat shouldn't worry about being too obscure, it ain't FM radio! Almost all the jocktalk should be about dance artists and dance happenings around the country, like BPM does.

BPM's playlist looks like crap lately.

Spoken by a true hater. You're not studying to be an attorney, I hope. Because that's a weak supporting statement for your position.

Of course, you're studying communications in the dance capital of the world, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, so your expert opinion means a lot. The broadcast world needs more people like you! People who possess that high level of intellect as displayed above that will insure that radio and TV continues to pander to the lowest common denominator.

Dan, we know you don't like XM and BPM. You never let us forget it. XM could hire the entire Sirius staff and you'd still find something to hate. You're a sad, sour person. I feel sorry for you.

About BPM's playlist: even at its worst, it's miles ahead of The Beatoff. The Beat, week after week and month after month gets its a** handed to it by BPM. XM has people who KNOW DANCE MUSIC. They don't put offensive people and inappropriate junk on the air like Seth, the blathering babes and Dontay. They have people who talk about what dance fans are interested in. We do agree on something. I wish they had more on-air staff.

You like to whine about BPM's sound and how it doesn't sound "radio." Yes, it sounds different than Sirius. Thank God for that! Only radio geeks like you care about jingles and who the voice is who says those really cool things like TURN IT UP AND TEAR THE KNOB OFF!!!!!!!! News to Dan: most of us come for the music. On that point there is no comparison between the two.

Unlike you, everyone else hasn't made a personal crusade out of villifying XM. So in closing, I ask you: please grow up and stop

I haven't heard a difference, codedude. It still sounds good.

I IM'd Allan Freed tonight and he is still running BPM. The new guy isn't there yet.

A "hater"?

I'm guessing your that douchebag from Radio-Info.

Despite your ability for condescension and sarcasm, you fail to realize this is a Sirius fan board and your BS is not wanted here.

I've critisized Sirius many times in the past, and I'm pretty upset over Remix. But I had XM and switched. I just don't care for the overall sound, and the music programming, of their dance stations. This apparently deeply disturbs you. I suggest you see a local psychiatrist who may be able to help you.
