I'm considering going XM only. Not just because of dance, although it is a main reason. The girls night out show annoys me to no end. I don't want to listen to two women babbling when they should be playing mixes on Sat. night. I do like the new Spa channel, but the rest of the changes have disappointed me. Also, I dislike the current trend of exclusive artists channels. I think Sirius is going for a "rock and roll" male audience with the changes as well as Stern and Nascar. So, I"ll see what happens in the next few months.

I think it sucks!

They got rid of the best channel they had in Remix. Boombox doesn't know if wants to be a breaks channel or an old school hip-hop channel. The beat is great if you like hearing the same 5 songs played all day and night. Area33 is trying to blend house and trance together which is like oil and water, and every time I hear Freddy Snakeskins lame ass commentary I want to puke.

Bombastic beats anyone?
house music all night long!!

they've moved a lot of mixshows to area33, and just last night i heard at least 3 mixes in a row, although it was halloween. plus adding the "cheesier" mixes to the beat and the trancier mixes to the prog station is kinda starting to work out, i think.

codedude is an unknown quantity at this point
Default My Suggestions

Here is what I think sirius should do with the dance line-up

33//The Vortex: ALL TRANCE playlist with mixshows.
34//House Party: ALL HOUSE playlist with mixshows
(a bit similar to XM 80//The Move)
35//The Beat: Broaden the playlist a bit, get rid of all the silly gossip and
replace it with relevant dance happenings, and finally add
mixshows on Fri and Sat nights. Girls Night Out does not
cut it for a Sat night.
36//Club Classics: 80s and 90s dance with mixshows.
37//The Strobe: ALL disco with mixshows.

DELETED Channels: Boombox and Chill
Merge Chill with Spa 73
Merge Boombox with Backspin

This would be my dream channel lineup. No extra dance channels added and the deadweight dance channels removed. Although I REALLY miss Remix, I could live with this lineup as long as there are plenty of mixshows. I would also be in favor of removing a couple of the jock positions from The Beat and run it jockless for certain shifts. Those removed positions could be added shifts on The Vortex or House Party. I think this lineup would really satisfy just about everyone. Those that miss the house party show on Remix would now have a channel to listen to. House and trance would be on two separate channels as there have been lots of complaints about that.

Boombox and Chill are both put in the Dance/Electronica genre. So, there are currently 5.
