Default Pre-2004 dance that you want to hear on The Beat

What are some dance floor classics of, say, 1995-2003 that you would like to hear more of on the Beat? Just trying to gauge some opinions here...

Oooh, good topic!

Lautsprecher - Omnibus
Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You
Derb - Derb
Darude - Feel The Beat
Kreo - Burn For You
Fiori - Take Me Where You Are
4 Strings - Take Me Away, Diving, Let It Rain
DJ Sammy - Sunlight
Abigail - You Set Me Free
Terra Skye - Is This Love
Andrea Brown - It's Love (Trippin)
Armand Van Helden - The Funk Phenomenon
ATB - Fields Of Love, Let U Go
JS-16 - Stomp To My Beat
De Nuit - All That Mattered
Chicane - Don't Give Up
Dance Nation - Sunshine
Dutch - My Time
E People - We Loved
Fatboy Slim - Star 69
Gigi D'Agostino - I'll Fly With You
Groove Armada - Superstylin'
House Crew - To The Beat Y'all
Ian Van Dahl - Will I
Iio - At The End, Rapture
Jean Jacques Smoothie - 2 People (might be better on Area 33)
Junior Jack - My Feeling
Madelyne - Beautiful Child
Planet Soul - Set U Free
Plummet - Damaged
Sash - Encore Une Fois
Me & My - Dub I Dub
Inner City - Good Life
Sylver - Turn The Tide
Perpetuous Dreamer - Sound Of Goodbye
Fragma - Toca's Miracle
ATC - Around The World
Lime - Babe We're Gonna Love Tonight
Pet Shop Boys - Home & Dry
DJ Sammy - Boys Of Summer

Not all the songs are going unplayed, but many are, and nearly all of them are underplayed. Sirius should consider bumping up the gold quotient and lowering the current rotations a shade.

Yeah man, I agree- I would love to hear a little bit more golds than hearing Mariah or Beyonce again LOL.

Def some great selections though. Esp with Sylver and Madeline- I haven't thought about those songs in a while- but both very good picks!

Actually the reason I ask is because I'm incorporating more golds into my mixshows and I want to know what you guys are feeling. So on that note, keep the suggestions coming!

why can't some of these songs, especially the older ones go to the Strobe?

I think some of them would fit well on The Strobe. However, The Strobe tends to play early 90s dance (pretty much just CeCe Peniston), while The Beat's gold plays tend to be from the mid-90s and on.

I think, maybe with the exception of Lime "Babe We're Gonna Love Tonight", most of those songs are all house/trance tracks that have come out in the past 5-6 years. Obviously, these songs are more of a fit for Beat than they are for Strobe. Plus, it would give the Beat a chance to give their playlist songs a bit of a breather and keep it sounding fresh.

I think that list is similar to what I would like to hear! I would like deeper playlists and songs that are pre-2004 on The Beat.

James, Will you be pulling some of these tracks to use on your mix fix show immediately? Anyway please let us know when you are going to start playing some of the older songs. Thanks

the Beat definitely needs to KEEP IT FRESH cause "my humps" cannot take it anymore...

I do not have any particular song but some bands that have some older dance tunes...

U2
New Order
Madonna
Jamiroquai
Robbie Williams
Underworld
Janet Jackson
Chemical Brothers
David Bowie
Duran Duran
Cyndi Lauper
Elton John

etc, etc, etc

Trent

And those are mostly big name artists (not sure about Elton John and U2 dance tracks, though...what are you thinking about in particular?). Think about all the litle known artists who produceded great dance songs in recent yeears. There is a lot for the Beat to chose from and but they still seem to be stuck on the same 20 or so songs.

LASIRIUSFAN. I'm not familar with a lot of the artists and songs that you listed but what I know I like. I would just suggest that the Inner City tracks (Inner City is from Detroit, and they are kind of heroes) are probably from the late eighties and should definately be on the Strobe and shake things up over there.

U2's beautiful day was remixed when that song came out. I remember it being played at several clubs I went to. And I am sure there are a few tunes off of Discoteque.

Not sure which song I heard while at a Circuit Party in Rehoboth Beach during Labor Day weekend but when the Elton John song came on the crowd went crazy...it wasnt rocket man but another song with "man" in it I believe.
