Default Heart & Soul...Is it just me?

Hello all,

I'm a year long subscriber but a first time poster on this board. I love Sirius-I live in Iowa now and it's almost a neccessity-there are no real r&b, hip hop, and jazz stations where I live. I enjoy my service immensely.

But I do have just one problem, and I'm hoping I'm just not being picky. I know the repetition issue has been addressed before ( I love Jill Scott but if I hear "Cross My Mind" one more *&$*&# time....) and I really think they could use just one more urban station (funk maybe??), but my issue is w/one of the DJ's-specifically DeJa Vu.

Now I'm thinking that you actually have to know at little something about the music in order to be a dj on a certain genre of station. So I'm listening at home Sunday and they're playing Superwoman by Karyn White. DejaVu comes on and the first thing after the song is over is "That's Terry Lewis' wife, Karyn White. You know she's not worrying about anything".

Hold.up.

Haven't Karyn White and Terry Lewis been divorced the better part of a decade now?

Don't get me wrong, I don't want an encyclopedic knowledge of music but dang! Shouldn't a DJ at an R&B station know a little something about the music she's playing?

Then a couple days later she said something about R Kelly's last album being 12 Play...da hell?

The heart & soul DJ's talk alot, but this chick is something else.

Please tell me it's not just me and someone else has noticed this too.

Default None

It`s not just U.When it comes to R&B for 35+ audience sirius falls very short. At times I feel like I`m listening to a top 40`s oldies station, and as far as Funk goes,Sirius feels that genre is not necessary, and when they do play any Funk its the same old Parliment, tear the roof off the sucker.Thats all I hear.I and other SBS members have emailed Sirius for months about the lack of Funk, but our requests have fallen on deaf ears.Sirius has about 15 rock channels and not 1 channel for Funk, what does that tell you? They had a Funk channel Express 44 but chose to delete it.If you want Funk you will HAVE 2 get XM.

I have to agree here, I was totally surprised that there wasn't any Funk stations! The R&B station just don't seem to play the music I want to here. I don't think I listen to it enough, but when I do listen to it, I hear nothing but new R&B. I would love to hear some old school 70's & 80's RB. Groups like Cameo, Bar Kays, a little O Jays and Billy Preston would be very cool!

Default Replace Slow Jams with "The Flow"

I already said this but Sirius needs "The Flow" This channel is so different than Heart and Soul. Maybe they can change slow jams and focus on this neo-soul format. I might just buy XM for this
