Joe, great post. I don't know what else we can say to slowbus in charge at Sirius. This is even dumber then when they dumped The Express :\ . I guess Sirius has decided to throw in the towel on the R&B arena....

My sister called me this afternoon irate about the removal of Slow Jamz. She will likely jump to XM.

My wife and I dropped 2 of our 3 Sirius accounts, picked up 1 XM. I am not sure Sirius is aware there are millions of affluent black listeners over the age of 40. My music - adult urban - is just not on enough on the Sirius dial to justify more than one sub for us.

SIRIUS is making a HUGE mistake. I alone have five subs and have turned many family & friends on to SIRIUS for their diverse music and talk choices. I am really beginning to regret it (and I'm a shareholder).
If they dropped Slow Jamz and replaced it with a DESPERATELY needed Neo Soul channel, I would feel much better.

They'd better realize there are MANY educated, professional and affluent african americans who love SIRIUS, but are really starting to feel neglected. I mean come on....... we don't only listen to rap. Give us some credit.
Also, I do like rock, but how many rock channels do you need?

I hate to say it, but Sirius is basically giving up on this demo and giving it to XM. XM offers for adult urban listeners (35+) Soul Street(classic soul), The Flow (Neo Soul), Suite 62 (best of today & yesterday r&b), The Groove (old school/funk) and the City (urban contemporary). 5 channels vs 2 that Sirius offers for the same demo. I love my Sirius, and listen to a wide variety of music formats, but instead of improving the adult R&B category on Sirius, the people in charge are taking a step backwards. Basically, they are saying in their actions, this isnt the demo they want or will serve. Its a shame. So many have been turned onto Sirius, only now to have the "soul rug" for us grownups, pulled out from us with every channel lineup readjustment. Many people I know have contacted Sirius about the changes, and not even received a reply or reason, that is a shame. In all the other categories, Sirius wins hands down, just not in my favorite one. :\

The only reason I haven't cancelled Srius is I like all the pop, rock and fringe stations. By the way, I have Direct TV and they're getting XM next month. And I have the premium package, so I'm getting all the best channels. So I'm getting the best of both worlds!
