Default Quiet Storm?

Since Sirius decided to pull the plug on Slow Jamz, am I the only one that would like to see a "quiet storm" type program on Heart & Soul late nights?

Only if we can get Leon (aka "The Ladies Man") from SNL to be a DJ

Slow Jamz didn't really have a Quiet Storm program format at night. IMHO, it didn't touch most FM urban AC programming at all. Plus, Sirius would have to accept calls for the quiet storm program to work correctly and I doubt that is going to change anytime soon...

This would be a good programming add for Heart & Soul, but then again there could be some other programming adds to Sirius urban selections. What they have is good, but it isnt complete- too many genres are left out and certain demos ignored.

Hello, doesn't Suite 62 on XM have a "slow jams" / quite storm program at night? It seems I came across it a while back. But I'm still trying to refamiliarize myself with all the new changes of both Sirius and XM.

I dont think XM offers that on Suite 62, there is a slow jams show on the Groove during the week. I also have been in contact with Sirius, and they are looking at the possibility of adding a Quiet Strom type of show on Heart & Soul. Let them know you support that with emails or calls.

gmq0525, you were correct. Suite 62 does have Quiet Storm program at night. I'm not exactly sure what time it starts but when I turn to it bout 10 or 11pm, it is on. It still on at 2 in the morning so I'm not exactly sure how long the block is. I wish they had a dj to take request and just give shout outs but the music is great. I've heard songs that I haven't heard in awhile plus songs that I've never heard but I like. I'm really enjoyin my switch to XM. Suite 62 kicks Heart & Soul ass.

I haven't listened to Soul Street becaue its too deep. Most of the songs and people I have never heard of in my life.

Corey, its because you werent even born when the songs they play on Soul Street came out.... . They play BIG soul classics from 50s 60s and 70s. Its ok, we forgive you youngblood!! And yes, XM's urban adult offerings are better and far more numerous that Sirius. They seem to care about a certain ethnic and demographic group a bit more.

LOL, true but I listened to Soul Revue/Street and I knew most of the artist and the songs. Soul Street has me lost most of the time... . Now, The Groove, I can rock too. I know majority of those artists.

I joined in late Nov and was dissapoined by the fact that there are only 2.3 R&B stations (Hot Jamz is more hip hop). A Quitet Storm station would be great.

Many people are dissappointed, this is Sirius' weak programming spot, and yes HotJamz is more hip hop. Please contact Sirius (call or write) to let them know their R&B selection is very weak.

Hello Everyone,

I activated in November to beat the holiday rush and am loving Sirius with the exception of the lack of R&B. I had expected that there would be stations by decades of RnB AND Blues: if it wasn't for these two genres there would be no POP (of which there are 19 stations). Of course I have wide and varied musical tastes, so Sirius serves my purpose for my daily one hour commute to and from work. But more RnB, Blues and Classic Radio (only ONE station) would be most desirable and improve my chances of renewing my subscription next year instead of switching to XM.

I would like to know specifically who to write at Sirius to make my feelings known about this weak spot. Plus, perhaps we could all sign a petition.

Please advise and Happy Holidays to you all.
