Name your fav music type and there will be people who hate what you like also. Grow up, it's radio to appeal to many people's tastes not just yours!!

It's amazing how Vince manages to crack me up and annoy me at the same time, with every comment.

Vince, check out the site of one of our hip-hop shows:
http://www.afterhoursspotradio.com/feat_oq.asp

You'll find a wrestling recap. I'd love to see what you think about OQ's picks. (See, you and some hip-hop people have stuff in common.)

Vince, also, what happened? Did you get tired of posting up a different picture with every post?

my apologies to you ryan, i will analyze the picks, but hip hop needs to be off of sirius... unless of course it is kevin federline. he is the only true rap music that is listenable.

I hate rap as well. It’s not music, its noise. But really, Sirius only has 6 stations dedicated to what is supposed to be the ‘hottest style of entertainment in the country’. Considering they have 5 stations dedicated to Dance, a more underground genre, I don’t think that is too bad. I mean sure I’d be happier if there was no such thing as rap, but I can live with it.

I find it very comical. A bunch of whiny wannabe ‘ganstra’ thugs competing for who has the most ‘bling-bling’. There all tough guys with a stupid arrogant expressions on their face until they’re in handcuffs and behind bars. A few years ago VH1 had a special on some dead rapper that was shot because he lived on the wrong side of the country or something and signed with a rival record label or something stupid and he got shot for it. It’s like a cult, I found the whole thing hysterical that something as stupid as that can determine life or death, isn’t there more important thing to worry about.

They only rap song is by this group called Big Timers called Still Fly which pretty much pokes fun of the entire rap scene and shows how completely ridiculous it is. The whole culture (if you want to call it that) is so out there it’s just funny. The gold chains, wearing pants halfway down your ass, a $1K sound system in a $250 beater, it’s disgusting, but at the same time stupidly funny that people think this is okay.

Wow... That's unfortunate that you feel that way. Look, I know rap has a bad reputation among many people. It seems comical to many people, even. You have to realize that rap is as broad and diverse as rock and roll is. You are referring to a small segment, though it tends to be the one that White America loves to pretend is the face of rap. True, a lot of the stuff that gets played in the mainstream is garbage...but that's the mainstream. I don't think "real" rock fans are too crazy about Nickleback representing them.

Rap music and hip-hop culture is nothing like you descirbe it.

Hey, Why don't you mind your business and keep your bigoted attitude and opinions to yourself. You have NO IDEA what you're talking about! Please stay in your sheltered world.

For anyone in this thread and on the board. This Steve guy is a diehard, "extreme conservative republican." He listens to Fox and loves Rush Limbaugh, which we all know is one of the most racist and insenitive people in the world!

Here's a sample of how Steve thinks...

"That’s part of the reason why I left satellite TV, Dish Network and now DirecTV are so focused on international channels is absolutely sickening. They can add every Ethiopian channel under the sun but neglect other important things that actually matter. In upstate NY we don’t having much cultural diversity (thank God) Time Warner carries about 17 Spanish channels, an Italian channel and a Russian channel, that’s as international as it gets and that’s good enough, no need to waste bandwidth where it is needed in other places."

No actually what’s unfortunate is the rap scene where illicit drug use, treating women as property and sex objects, having no respect for the law and authority are not only accepted but welcomed. What’s unfortunate is making ‘dawg’ a word, and making the word ‘pimp’ bring good thoughts.

So rappers expressing themselves talking about killing cops is okay, but my words against it are not?

A lot of people watch Fox, but where did you get loves Rush from? Please let me know, and bring that post to my attention.

So I don’t like people who are different then me, big F’ing deal. I’d rather stand my ground then pretend to accept this garbage.

Stereotypes don't become stereotypes by accident. My feelings on all of this is, I voice my opinions, you can dislike them, like them, or have no opinion, I really don't care. I'm not here to impress anyone, I'm not here to pretend I'm something I'm not. I will avoid answering question I don't like, I am a bit racist (I could explain, but I won't waste my time, you'll call me that anyway, but I don't care), I am a hypocrite and I am not perfect, far from it. I have no problem admitting that, it’s called honesty. I really don't care what anyone thinks about me either, I don't lack that much self confidence I need people on internet message boards to back me up. This rap crap is not music and is garbage, apparently that strikes a nerve. Say whatever you want about the formats of the stations I listed above, I could careless. To say heavy metal is obnoxious noise and it’s all devils music will not do anything for me. I’ve seen MTV/VH1/BET and yes, in my mind all rap is exactly like what I describe. So yes, I am a bigot. And just because it’s in my mind, doesn’t make it right.
