Default Kingdom Come

Anybody get the Jay album? I heard enough when Jude and Sear played the snippets to not waste my money. I'm waiting for Nas. I've only heard bad things about Kingdom Come. Anyone think differently? He's on his way to selling 850K in his first week. That's crazy numbers (and probably means a huge drop-off for Game and brick for Snoop).

PS: XM has a free two week trial now with a promo code (see orbitcast.com)-only The Rhyme is worth listening to

Haven't hear the new Jigga album yet. Heard enough songs off it. Guess I won't check for it. Had Reasonable Doubt, disappointed. Had Vol. 2 Hard knock life, sold it back. Bought Blueprint, loved it, think it's a great album. Jay is a great rapper with a list of sub par albums. 850 in the first week? That's pretty good these days.

Actually love Jay-Z, but wasn't impressed when I first heard him, so I guess his new stuff doesn't impress me either. Nas is also a great rapper, but hasn't been relevant to me since "It was written"

Yep, the album is hot. I think Jay might sell a million first week. They announced he was on pace to sell 850K before black friday even happened. Its possible that he did another 250k over the weekend.

"Not only NYC, I'm hip hops savior. After this flow you might owe me a favor" - Jay-Z

Now rap records can start selling again. These other rappers should thank Jay. They owe him a favor.

The king's back!

I picked up The Game, Snoop, and 2Pacs new CD's on opening day last week and I love all 3 of them the tracks are amazing and

I am not going to buy Jay Z's Cd cause

1#. I heard almost all of it on SHADE 45 already,

2# I bought JayZ's shit back when he said was retireing and all that.. along with everybody else back then. Now he wants to come back and put out a new CD well here is the thing, once you say your going to retire you have gauranteed sales cause people want to get your last shit...well now JayZ is back and he thinks HipHop owes him a favor, shit I think he owes us a favor, he ripped everybody off with him sayin he was going to retire so he could get mega sales back then. I hope Snoop, The Game or Nas beat him in sales.

We already know that Game and Snoop are NOT going to out sell him. Nas possibly can but its highly unlikely.

Not only east coast rap, but rap in general does owe him a favor because now that he's back rap records can start selling again lol.

"I got to admit a little bit I was sick of rap but despite that your boy is back!"

This could also work against rap. All these people that weren't buying records came back to the record stores and gave Jay a chance. Essentially, Kingdom Come confirms why everyone stopped buying albums in the first place - all rap albums (minus a handful) suck, except for 1-2 songs. Now they may hesitate even more to be swindled and buy someone else's album.

Nobody will outsell Jay this year. Even though heads are fiending for a Nas album, most people could care less. Nas wasn't on the cover on Entertainment Weekly. Nas doesn't have an HP commercial, or is dating Beyonce, or is in People every week. Like Nas recently said, he doesn't compete in rap anymore - his fanbase is set, and they'll support him.

It's not going to work against rap.

Now that the king is back.

Nas probably will go platinum
Jeezy might go platinum
Eminem reup is going platinum
Ghost might go gold

Oh Ye of little faith. lol

"Just when they thought it was all over, I put the whole world on my back and broad shoulders"
