I was shooting hoops and watching the Gators game and forgot to tune in. Anyone care to give a rundown or simply how it went?

I missed the first 10 minutes, but I listened to the rest. To me, DJ Wonder was absolutely the high point. Usually in shows, I look forward to the talking because the music's generic, or played out. Wonder played different songs, not just new shit, and was mixing and scratching and everything.

They had some guy that was a wife-beater on. He was Jamaican and they took phone calls, most people bashing him. I was a bit bored with that segment (it felt a bit contrived).

Then they had Kanye's ex girlfriend on. It was a pretty laid-back interview. You got the impression that they were friends, just hanging out, which is probably the goal of the show in terms of what type of tone they're looking for. It was funny when the guest mentioned how people were mad at her because of her big forehead.

Finally, the white rappers show made the rounds to this show (seems like they've been going to every show!!) Elliot Wilson from XXL was there with a White female rapper who uses the N word. They played her song, which was a tribute to Sean Bell. Definately NOT going to be a hit - I assume she didn't win. The show definately hit its stride when Angela and Leah started bagging on the rapper. That was really funny.

Overall, the banter was not tooooooooo different from Angela in the morning, which is great beacuse I thoroughly enjoy her personality and humor. Leah sounded a bit tired; for some reason, she seems more dynamic on Clinton's show. I really enjoyed the music, and I could see the show moving to play all r+b songs, like Power 1051 does in NY, after Clue's show (thinking of songs like the Jadakiss and Joe one, Wifey with Big Pun, some JE, 112, Biggie, etc...). In any case, I liked the show, and I will be listening next week when Carmen stops by. This is definately a valuable addition to the channel.

Thumbs up

I caught most of the show while I was at work and I thought the part in the begining w/ thw wife beater was funny as hell w/ his accent and everything, Kanye's Ex was interesting and the White Rapper chick segment was funny too, I love how Angela clowns people and talks all tuff and shit she is great I really enjoyed the music and Dj Wonder's mixing and music selections the show is alot better then listening to the SHADE 45 playlist for 2 hours waiting for Dj Mugg's show to come on. I'm lookin forward to next weeks show. Be sure to check it out if you missed this weeks, also they have a myspace page at www.myspace.com/lipserviceradio
check it

Heard it & hated it.

As Angela would say, don't quit her day job.

She doesn't work with other chicks.

I would give it some time to develop. When I got Sirius in January 05, I thought the banter was good, but you could hear how it has really solidified over the past year, especially with Sounds Effect and All-Out Show. With Wonder producing it (I assume), I'm sure he has the right knowledge to conduct this show correctly every Monday. Pure professionals right there.

True that well said Dj Matso give it time Juice, the show has got to be better than the 2 hours of repeat music that was usually on in that timeslot on Mondays.

Well, I dunno. You do have a point, juice. FM radio's bigest listeners are girls, but it seems that more guys listen to Sirius, especially the rap channels. That's why they don't play r+b, they play rap. However, I don't really think the girls were talking about girly topics too much. I think guys can appreciate it. I don't think it crossed the line, though it may have come close at times.

Guys are more apt to go out & nab gadgets. I have been having Satellite for 4 years because I heard about it, went & got it. I was tired of commercials & the same old songs on the radio. I don't think a chick will be thinking about it when she can just listen to the radio cuz they play the songs that women tend to like (commercial). Women tend to not be into music like men are unless they are trying to get the artist.

Yeah, I agree, though that's a stereotype the chicks will hate us for. But I think in terms of rap music, the majority of women (definately not all) prefer "what they play on the radio"... which is r+b... Not too many girls that I know (though there are some) appreciate a good Nas, Jay, old Mobb Deep song.
