I don't understand why it's not playing for me, either. I thought it was because they were blocking streaming music at work, but a friend who has XM has no problem listening to XMs streams.

I cleared the cache, closed spyware apps, killed my pop-up blocker - everything I could think that was causing a conflict - and still no go.

I used the link that was pasted earlier, I also tried using the minimized player. It's really weird - it works at home, but not at work.

Any ideas?

Default Online player issues

This is a letter I have just sent to Sirius in hopes to resolve the online player issue. (I included my contact info at the end)

This is really getting very frustrating. Some days I can listen online and others I can't. On the larger player, I can't do anything. None of the buttons work and have not for a very long time. Your customer service department is of no help, as they tell me it is something with my settings. When I try to minimize the player it will work some of the time, but usually it just makes the whole window disappear. I am paying a monthy fee, but do not feel as I am getting my money's worth. Part of the reason I subscribed in the first place was to listen online at work. I have been on the forum looking for answers and I have found that I am not the only one who is experiencing these issues. Please let me know what can be done to resolve this.

Default Music comes in fine... radio chick/jay thomas not so much

Hey all,

My problem, which cropped up new yesterday is that I can't get the Radio Chick/Jay Thomas feed at all. I will either get about 8 seconds of silence where it pretends to play, followed by "Buffering" or it will just say "Buffering" and not do anything at all.

As I mentioned in my subject, the music stations come in fine. Anyone else with this problem?

Default Online Radio Player

My player still won't play Radio Chick. Music works fine, but Sirius Stars just buffers. It's been two days now and I've sent an email to Sirius, but I haven't got a reply as of yet. Any recent news on why this is happening?

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I wouldn't hold my breath with their e-mail customer service. Sucks doesn't begin to describe the level of bad that it is. If you get a reply, be sure to post it

EDIT: Here is the reply from SIRIUS Customer Care. Believe it or not, they didn't ask me to clear my cache or cookies!

I guess in the vein of "misery loves company," I feel better knowing I'm not the only one having problems with the online streaming.

I can only get it to work when I minimize the player. It doesn't matter whether I use IE 6.0 or Firefox. And even once I get it playing, I can't see the "last song played." After it's minimized and playing, I can enlarge it, and it still plays, but I can't change channels.

When this started MONTHS ago, I tried calling and e-mailing Sirius. It was the most frustrating customer support experience I've ever had. They kept telling me to contact my ISP no matter how succinctly I described the problem. I had pretty much decided to not renew my Sirius service because it's so frustrating. (Note the online streaming is how I predominantly listen to Sirius especially since my antenna is now non-functional on my receiver.)

Does anyone know if they try to automatically renew annual service, or do they call first?

Thanks.

Jane

The Sirus Stars online stream is working again. I'm listening to Jay Thomas as I write this note.

I haven't been able to get Siriusly or It's On Sirius to work for weeks. They both time out before I can get logged in. I wonder if Sirius changed something in their online player to disable their use? Does anyone remember who the authors of these programs are?

I sent their customer service a very detailed email explaining exactly what the problem was. This is the response I got. Apparently they don't care enough about their customers to actually read the emails and find out what the problems actually are. They sent me a cut and paste response based on the subject line of the email. RIDICULOUS!! This alone is enough to make me not want to renew at the end of the year.

Radio chick left sirius for public radio...paragraph

The Radio Chick leaves Sirius Satellite Radio for Terrestrial
TAGS: Sirius Satellite Radio Infinity

The Radio Chick"The Radio Chick" Leslie Gold has dumped Sirius Satellite Radio and is joining Infinity's WXRK (92.3 "Free FM") in New York. She'll be the new afternoon drive host there, commercials and all, starting January 3rd. Her four-hour program will also be streamed online (Oooo.. techy!).

Congratulations on making the wrong decision.

Thanks lil' conner!

UPDATE: Get Sirius Info has more info on this and the reasoning behind why The Radio Chick decided to leave.

Why the Chick Left SIRIUS! She Talks Here

An Email From The Radio Chick

As of Jan 3rd, we’ll be doing afternoon drive (3-7 pm) for Infinity broadcasting. We’ll be based out of the WXRK in NYC (Howard Stern’s current station) and will be adding additional markets throughout the course of our employment with Infinity, as part of the expansion of other “Free FM” hot talk stations around the country.

When Infinity first approached with their generous offer, I turned it down. Twice. They then returned with an irresistible combination of situation, compensation and guarantees. It is a tremendous package and big opportunity for all us on the show. My contract with Sirius did not prohibit us from doing terrestrial radio while broadcasting at Sirius. While it would be tough, we were prepared to honor our commitment to Sirius, and continue to host the midday slot on Stars 103, as well as PM Drive for Infinity. Sirius instead opted to release us from our contract. I completely understand their position.

We were saddened we were not able to explain, or even say goodbye to our Sirius listeners on air, but that was not our call.

You will be able to listen to the Radiochick show online beginning Jan 3rd, 2006. You can also stay in touch with the show by signing up on the mailing list at www.radiochick.com so we can notify you of big news, like new market announcements when they happen. We might be coming to a station near you in the not too distant future.

Our listeners at Sirius were tremendous. We are very grateful to you for making the experience at Sirius so enjoyable for us. Thank you.

Leslie Gold
