I have had no problems....streaming online at work and our network is locked down. I was surprised it worked to begin with & has continously worked fine....(the majority of the time I read that people are having problems with it...)

*Knock on wood*

Does anyone know how to get the player to work with a Mac G4 or G5? It says path not found. I haven't tried my G5 yet but they are both running OSX 10.3.9.

Thanks.

Why can't I listen to all the channels online? It was the MAJOR selling point from the guy at best buy, I went to the website and it touted that you can listen to ALL the channels online prominently. SO I sign up, spend 200 bucks for the whole thing, GO online at work, enter my account and password and get a message saying only "select" programming is available online. And of course the only way I could have found this out was AFTER I signed into the online player as a paid member.

That’s total BS.

Not true...had you listened to the free trial on www.sirius.com, you would have been able to listen to the same stations subscribers do. It even says on the Sirius Player FAQ (question 7) that you can only listen to the music stations and a select few entertaiment channels.

I am sorry, but you did not do your homework on this one. The BB rep should have known all the stations weren't available online, but you can't always trust what they say.

Default Sirius Online Player

Is it me or does the online player seem not to have all the channels that are available for the talk section of sirius?

That is correct, Sirius does not stream all of the talk channels. Mainly because they're contracts with those companies do not allow it.

I have 2 issues with Sirius online

1) Constant buffering. I have a Comcast high speed connection and should expect a constant feed on the streming music. For the last 24 hours, I have not gotten a solid signal from any Sirius online station.

2) Misleading advertisements create expectations of product. Sirius online does not deliver the goods promoted by its ads.

The Sirius web site , promoting the service is misleading. If you look on the page about NFL, what do you see? Right after it says "Sirius delivers live play by play of every NFL game..." It says "Free online trial" That sort of implies that you can hear the NFL broadcasts on the online service, doesn't it?
The same happens here: http://www.sirius.com/servlet/Conten...=1107787276524
That page implies you can hear Howard Stern online.

Well, if you click on the "listen" button on that page, the Sirius online player pops up, where it says above the log-in:

"You're just a click away from hearing the best 100% commercial-free music satellite radio has to offer. Enter your email address and password and you're ready to go." (Italics mine).

I don't see anything there about being able to hear Sports, Howard or anything other than music. No offense, but you seem to be reading things into that ad copy that simply are not there. Besides, when you get the free trial, you find out it's just music, so nobody is out any money. And if you buy without getting a free trial first, whose fault is that? I'm not trying to bash anybody, but I just don't agree with these charges of "deception" that are leveled all too often against Sirius. All you have to do is a little research or take advantage of the free trial.

Default Player worked once online, now it doesn't.

Hi, I have a brand new computer and when I first got it up and running, I went to sirius.com to listen online. It worked that day. Now whenever I go back to listen online, the channel I select connect, but says "ready" and nothing plays. Usually it says buffering... and some other things, then it plays. Now it just says ready, and nothing plays. I checked for any plug-ins needed and nothing came up missing. Plus it worked the first time, so I'm not sure why I would be missing any plug-ins all of a sudden.

Please help. Thanks

Last time I talked to Sirius custserv they said "no" but that was a couple of months ago... I know that some shows have contracts but I can't believe that they'd purposely not want to promote this.

And frankly, I'm rather pissed about it. I wanted Sirius for Howard - the music was an afterthought and I probably woulda went with XM Radio to get MLB... out of all the sports Sirius has, that's one they didn't get. Fine, whatever, it was a choice.

So I originally wanted to get it streaming only. I have a short commute so I have no need for a car kit and I get NO coverage in my house or where I work... I figured I could just sign up for streaming: wrong. I was forced to buy the hardware. OK fine, but it's only after I buy in that I then find out that online-streaming is a beaten stepson to the company. Partial content and some sort of "you can't login in too much" restrictions... not too pleased.

*shrug* I'm betting he'll never be available via the online player.

Guys,

Both XM and Sirius do not broadcast their talk stations online. They cannot for contract reasons. It all started when regular radio stations wanted to stream, and the RIAA wanted to double charge stations for doing so. So, instead of the station paying for one play, the RIAA was going to charge them twice...once for playing it on the air, and another for "rebroadcasting" the song online. With that, radio companies saw an opportunity to make more money by telling their advertisers that if they purchased ad time, they would have to pay double in order to listen to the commercial over the airwaves, then again over the net. (Thanks Clear Channel for thinking that one up.) If you listen to commercial radio online, you usually either hear commercials that are not local, or no commercials at all.

Also, for these talk shows that you want to listen to, you can find another way to hear them. I know that CNN has a radio link on their website. Google the show you are looking for and you should be able to find the stream you want to hear.
