Awesome!!!! Like people have mentioned, if the font was bigger it would help us myopic old farts...

Why does Sirius make it so that you have to wait until the next song to dispay info!!???? This is so infuriating, because it seems like such an easy fix! Am I wrong?

Sirius had better be coming out with a better streaming solution soon. I love this player and am not digging on it--but the fact that one dude can release a tiny konfabulator widget and have it far exceed the offering of a service with millions of subscribers is mind blowing.

This widget rocks! Thanks for the tip!

Was this created by any of our SBS Regulars?
If so, please come forward and take a bow!

I've been running the widget all day, it rocks. Low overhead, low cpu usage, and it's way better than Sirius' player.

This is a great point...but, as we all know now, there's apparently no way to focus on both programming and hardware/services. I love Sirius for the programming...but the online player is just one more in a long line of hardware/services things that they're lagging behind in. XM obviously has the opposite priority...

I just downloaded this along with the widget engine. I can launch, pick a station, etc but it just says loading data... never actually plays music.
I've stopped and restarted multiple times... I get logged in successfully, just no music.. ?

I wonder how much of the problem has simply to do with scale. You look at something like launch failure with Google's Analytics. That company can stand to have a number of service failures because they basically have a monopoly on search yet people still seem to love them.

But Sirius does not have the flexibility to make a wrong move even if the intention is good, (i.e. launch a new streaming service that gets overloaded) that results in a failure.

Personally, I'd rather see sirius try and fail rather than continue this shim-sham online player. It truly is unacceptable. I mean we have this new widget--it doesn't even change the service at all, but the fact that it floats on the desktop--is low weight--and just works (for most people) says a lot.

Why didn't Sirius hire a programmer to write an official widget? Are they just not paying attention, or do they not care? I find it hard to beleive that a company providing a service that naturally drifts towards those willing to accept new technologies would so deliberatly ignore internet users.

Glad you guys like it! Compared to what we had for this solutions, things are looking a little brighter.

The font issue has been raised in the widget information section and I'm sure it will be addressed in the next version of the widget.

The song/artist info must only stream about 5 seconds before a song starts and very breifly after. My s-seek seems to notify just about that time frame ahead so that by the time I switch to listen, the old song has just finished up.

Whoever the author is should contact Sirius to develop more/better features. A docking playlist like WinAmp uses would be killer to display other songs on other channels.

Hmm...not sure of the problem there satradancing. I use XP and used Firefox to download the widget so perhaps the server is just freaking out due to the heavy volume for the widget!

Are you sure you downloaded and installed Yahoo Widgets before downloading the actual widget? You have to install the Yahoo software first, then you can use the widget in the link.
