Post Sinatra?

I have no qualms with The Chairman of the Board. I recognize and deeply appreciate his contribution to great music...BUT, his channel and ONLY his channel to represent the wealth of music from the 30's and 40's swing area is sorely lacking. The 40's Decade channel on XM is really a great example of fine satellite radio/music programing. I am fortunate in that I have Sirius at home and XM in the office so I CAN compare the channels and the music. I really miss the old Sirius Swing Street channel and wish they would bring it back as an addition to the Sirius Standards offerning. Again, Frank is great BUT give us more 30's and 40's stuff from a wider diversity of performers. Anyone agree?

I totally agree. We had it much better a few years ago with Standard Time and Swing Street. I rarely listen to Siriusly Sinatra because I'm just not interested in hearing one artist 50% of the time. If the merger goes through, XM's 40's channel is one I'd like to have.

I agree 100%. Siriusly Sintra siriusly sucks. I like the 40s channel on XM. That is a better representatation of the style of music from the 40s. It's a great channel.

How frickin popular can it be? Anybody who's a Sinatra fan would have a pretty wide range of taste, at the very least in the realm of the standards, I would guess.

Same goes for Met Opera. That's a deep catalog, but Opera people want a wide range geographic range and companies, whatever their particular taste in operas.

It is a valid question as to how popular this music is? I have to say I am not much of a fan of the '40s big ban era. I've tried to be, I've listened, but my Lord this stuff gets on my nerves worse than rap. In fact I think I could handle rap better. I guess it just goes to show you different strokes for different folks.

I do agree with Aaron though that Standard Time was much better than Siriusouly Sinatra. The standards I do enjoy from time to time, just not big band only type music per say.

Post I miss Standard Time even though I love Sinatra!

I listen to Sirius Sinatra a lot, and like it, but I really really miss Standard Time with its diverse mix and its DJ's!!!! Once upon a time over on XM Frank's Place was great for really deep cuts of standards and Standard Time was one standard hit after another....plus there were Djs there all the time (prolly taped, but sounding live) and it was sweet. Currently SIR75 is a lot of Frank and the only DJ is maybe Nancy or Frank with a program.....that is admittedly nice, but I still wish Sirius had kept Standard Time and added Siriusly Sinatra to the mix.....again, the DJs and the one standard after another of Standard Time were such a nice touch! Standard Time was the sole reason I got Sirius in the first place!

I've listened to Siriusly Sinatra from time to time. Just doesn't seem as good as Franks Place did on XM. Franks place seemed to mix it up more. Sinatra is great but I don't like to listen to one artist most of the time.
