Default Comment for Seth Rudesky, stop swearing!

Driving home yesterday from vacation I had to politely explain to my four year old daughter what he meant by saying $hit!

In fact, my daughter doesn't mind listening to the other rock channels but even they swear, too. Guess, I have to institute manual parental control and listen to a pop channel, or worse Kids Stuff - but one can only take so much of KS.

The other rock channels? Seth's on the Broadway Channel, is he also somewhere else?

What I was trying to say, if I want to expose my daughter to swearing, I would have her listen to some of the rock channels. Swearing and Broadway's best seems to me just poor taste.

I'd be swearing, too, if I had to host Broadway's Best.
Sorry, couldn't resist...

Not trying to be a smartass here, but you know there's two designated channels devoted exclusively to kids. If you want your daughter to hear other channels on SIRIUS, hearing some cursing is just a risk you're going to have to take.

He's also on The Beat 66 as Mr. Seth. I have no idea which channel he was heard cursing on, but it might not have been Broadway's Best.

Ah yes, the trials and travails of parenthood. It looks like you'll just have to suck it up and listen to a pop channel when she's around.

There is no reason to have swearing on Broadways Best, just because they can is not a good enough reason. To tell parents that they should only listen to 2 channels is also unrealistic. I expect foul language when I listen to Outlaw Country, Shade 45, Octane, etc.

DJ's should not be swearing on channels like Movin EZ, Starlight, etc.

Sirius mark the channels XL where we can expect foul language.

Have to agree with you there TX - while I am all for freedom of speach and no censorship the use of foul language on stations that serve a mixed age audience should be mindful of that. On Octane, Faction, and Hard Attack I would be concerned if I didn't here foul language but on channels where everyone in the car (including the kids) is going to be listening then I am concerned.

I would like to point out that Broadway's Best often plays showtunes that have adult language. Pretty much anything from "Avenue Q" would probably be unacceptable for your daughter, in ways that would make Seth's S-word seem insignificant. I would not call this a station for a mixed age audience.

Singing is one thing buy when the anouncer is swearing, that is another story. Half the metal tunes that I hear have quite a few explicatives but with the music and signing, often its hard to discern what they are saying unless you know what to expect. While it might be a little clearer with a show tune, when the anouncer is talking, his voice is the central focus.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for uncensored music, however, for certain channels do the SJ's vernacular requiring swearing?

SIRIUS has already censored way too much recently as it is. Please, for the love of God, don't encourage them to do any more!

I'm with BeyEhmVey; I'm not for censorship but there should be a few channels that are family oriented. Kidstuff and Disney should not be our only options. I have three kids and understand that I can't listen to Shade45 or AD on ALtNation, but some fool cursing on Broadway's Best? C'mon. That's just too weird.

The "S" word is so overused today, that if I want to really want to add emphasis on somthing being akin to "S-word", I'd use such gross-sounding words as "excrement" or "defecate" or even "exudate," rather than some wimpy sounding 4-letter word sounding little different from hit, bit, or fit.

Default Seth's s*** fine with me

I love the fact Broadway's Best is relaxed, funny and adult. Sorry, but if parents are offended, go elsewhere. Don't ruin it for the rest of us.

In short, keep your mits off Seth. Those of us who love Broadway musicals and all the gossip he dishes like him just the way he is. Please, please, do not turn it into an easy listening channel. If the language is too much for you, make the sacrifice and listen to standards or swing time or the kiddies channels or Elvis or kiddie s*** or the Christian Channel. You have many choices without ruining B'sB.
