Default Call To Action - Repetition_OFF

It's not often that I raise a red flag, but it's time to solve this repetition fiasco once and for all. I love Sirius too much to let a little repetition ruin my experience.

>>

I've listened to Sirius enough to know that they are going down the wrong path. When streams across all genres of music start playing the same artists and songs 2, 3 or even 4 times per 3-hour set, then something is wrong!

US-1, The Pulse and The Trend, the streams I listen to most, have even been playing the same tracks 2 times within the same hour.

US-1 used to be my golden angel, now it's the stepchild.

Sirius is about freedom from repetition and corporate controlled playlists. Sirius should be able to play familiar songs that we all know and love without relentless repetition. There are millions of secondary tracks and forgotten hits that are not being touched.

What I see happening is very sloppy, Sirius is skimming the charts and sticking to what is safe.

I do not want to hear Kelly Clarkson or Jewel 30 times per day on US-1. The Pulse should not play Michelle Branch 35 times per day, or Jason Mraz or Josh Kelly or Uncle Kracker. I know, I know, Sirius will try to say that these are hit based streams; however they must realize that Sirius listeners purchased the service to get away from FM radio!

Now that the plug-n-plays are out, I am listening 2 hours per day in my car during commute, plus another 2 or 3 hours at home. I used to select one stream and leave it on for hours, but now I am endlessly searching to avoid repeats. Sirius must adapt their playlists for extended listening periods, dig deeper and provide more variety. This can be done without making the service boring or overly eclectic.

If you agree, please make your thoughts known. We can as a collective voice make them change their ways.

Email your favorite stream, as well as the general feedback mailbox at Sirius.

genfeedback@sirius-radio.com

I am counting on everyone to take part in a massive email campaign to end repetition forever. Restore the playlists to make them as glorious as they once were.

I concur with every ounce of my soul.

Each time I turn over to US-1, I punch away in digust because it is ALWAYS friggin' Kelly Clarkson. We're tired of that song, and any industry trade magazine can tell you the "burn" on the song is astronomically high...so let's drop it.

Sirius: you are not typical radio. Abandon your radio philosophy and snap into the "it's all about the music" philosophy. Everyone promoted how much better Sirius is/was than traditional radio, and aside from the lack of commercials, I just don't see it anymore.

Jeff, I fully support your email write in campaign. Soon as I am done posting here I will be sending email. It is time for us subscribers to take a stand and let SIRIUS know that we won't settle for all these repeats. Its gotten totally out of hand. ENOUGH already!

Sirius should live by this...

Add them while they are fresh, and retire them before we get tired of them.

I expect Sirius to recognize upcoming hits, and play them before they hit FM. On the same note, they should realize when they have been on the charts too damn long. Cut back on the rotations before the trend has passed. Don't drop them for good, just please ease back on the spins.

I am with you Jeff. I am to the point where I can not even listen to US-1 at all. It seems everytime I tune into the stream I am hearing those same 4 or so songs also. Granted I do listen a lot, hardly ever turn on the tv anymore, but it is ridiculous. US-1, The Pulse, The Trend and even Big 80's and First Wave have way too much repitition. Sometimes I feel I am getting burnt out on Sirius but I am trying to fight it. Hopefully they will fix this when they realize how many more hours people are listening now that the plug and plays are here.
I will be sending my emails out tonight to each of the streams and Gen Feedback.

Thanks guys, it's very important that in addition to making your thoughts known on this forum, that you also email Sirius.

They will notice trends in feedback and fix this for good.

People are not listening just 30 minutes to work, and 30 minutes on the way home. It's 3, 4, 5 or more hours per day. We are passionate about the music and want to hear it all - without repeats.

OF course I will be giving lots of praise also... Left of center should still dig deeper with some more popular artists(b sides and deep tracks) but all in all, LOC is still pretty exciting... and their punk show (Liberation Frequency) is just amazing.

My usual gripe is no EMO music practically anywhere... and lets play the music industry mandated singles... and also dig deeper and play 3 or 4 tracks deep from artists we love.

I just emailed US-1 and The Pulse. I might do The Trend/First Wave later tonight or early tomorrow.

Perhaps we should give them a taste of endless repitition by e-mailing them every day until we get response or results. Seems they might pay attention if we all do it every day. That couldn't be ignored, right?

OK guys, here is an idea: every time a certain song is played(like Kelly Clarkson - Miss Independent on US-1 or Uncle Kracker - Drift Away on The Pulse), you send out an email. When they catch on, change your song. Give them a taste of their own medicine.

Matchbox 20 - Unwell is another awful offender on US-1 and The Pulse.

I am totally with this as well, I will be sending e-mails to every stream jockey of every offending stream. As well as to General Feedback.

I am also making this thread an Annoucement, so all of our members can contribute for a change to be made.

Very good idea guys!

I just emailed Totally 70's and The Bridge. I hope this will help us in our fights against repetition!
