Default music station suggestions

if you could make a suggestion for sirius to add a music station what kind of musicwould you ask for?

Myself I would ask for a celtic music station.

and a old cowboy and western music from way back.

what about you guys? Git a suggestion..let's hear it!

====================================

adding a station broadens variety and appeal

Think about all the old timers that love cowboy music.

Celtic music - think of all the scotish irish welsh new foundlanders cape bretoners nova scotia and those of celtic roots. Celtic music has been around for centuries and should have it's own station. You could invite the rankins leahy the chietens capercieldh Great Big Sea some of the great fiddle greats in and I tell you I feel that this will be a huge marketing plus.

I have been on a campaign for a year & a half on this one! There was an old skool channel (The Express), they turned their backs on this format that appeals to adults 35+, they have been throwing rap, hip hop, dance and harder rock in its place. 120 channels and no old skool... unreal!!

I agree, several of my friends have dropped Sirius in favor of XM, just because XM does offer the Groove, an old skool programmed channel. Others have asked me where is the old skool on Sirius? Hmmmm, some on Heart & Soul, some special programming on holiday weekends...but nothing 24/7.

Please Sirius, this programming void needs to be addressed. There were and are other formats that are over represented and duplicated, all we are asking for is ONE channel. :\

Here's what I think would be good:

Changing 9 to an ALL 90's Station and adding a Hot A/C station with a huge playlist (kinda like a a JACK FM but cooler) ..

Also: Adding Freestyle to the mix somewhere. The whole Stevie B, Expose, Miami dance scene that was big in the late 80's and early 90's..

Unfortunately I don't hear any voices for an additional classical station. I still miss Vista and well many of us still mis full-time Soundscapes.

I think they should make 9 a full 90s channel which includes retired Pop Hits from Hits 1.

Then add a Full Hot A/C channel with a A/C from the 90s to Today.

These are two very popular formats that would help Sirius address the lack of 90s, add more popular pop music and increase the variety of Hot A/C.

I agree! As listeners/subs, there has to be something we can do to convince Sirius that the 24/7 old school r & b/funk stream they once had should be reinstated. Why they continue to ignore the pleas of the 35-50 y/o demographic that loves the old school/funk genre is beyond me. Funk is not a niche format. It is the backbone of 60s, 70s and 80s R&B and the foundation of today's hip hop music. It truly deserves its own 24/7 stream, not a programming footnote on Heart & Soul.
