Ah yes, my appologies. By your message I can understand why they sent you that part of the terms of service. I don't think it should be taken rudely.

If you really must contact them by email, then contact JClark@siriusradio.com then you won't get one of these automated CS responses.

Wow, I read through all if this while the Angels beat up on the BoSox. I guess I just missed too much while I was up in Calgary.

They are talking about their partnership with sprint. What channels are the people at sprint going to have access to?

I still don't think Faction will be censored. First of all, you're talking about an extreme sports channel that plays various genres of music. You've got hard rock, punk, and rap...a good percentage of that music drops the f-bomb. That would be like censoring Shade 45, Octane, and 1st Wave all at the same time.

This channel has its own bloody fanbase built-in...it's own webpage (radiofaction.com), it's own uncensored group at MySpace (http://groups.myspace.com/FACTION28) and many of the sports personalities have their own webpages as well.

And do you think for one second that Jason Ellis, the people who call in, or anybody on Bam's show are going to be censored? They'd have to seriously revamp shows, quit taking live calls, explain to the fans that their freedom of speech is being taken away...NOT GONNA HAPPEN!

hi chad,

it would happen in a split second if sirius thinks they can make more money from the sprint deal than they would lose with lost subs.

sirius would be asking who is jason ellis ? who is he, btw ? most people, like myself, have never heard of him.

you are making the mistake that because this channel is so important to you, that it is so important to sirius.

they will make decisions on their bottom line - just like any other company.

Censoring Alt Nation and Faction is dumb, no two bones about it.

Why not stream The Pulse and Classic Rewind instead? Why two alternative/punk channels? Is that really Sprint's userbase? You already have an R&B station there and a retro/new-wave station, so include some 90s/now pop (Pulse is already about as censored as Hits 1 I think?) and some friendly classic rock, where the most inappropriate thing you'll hear is a veiled drug reference.

I agree, they should not censor these channels.

I do think that Sirius should mark the Uncensored Channels XL so that no one is suprised.

Here's something I simply don't understand. Why does Sirius have to edit any channels at all? In this day and age, doesn't Sprint have the technology to do the editing all by themselves without effecting Sirius and the listeners at all? How hard could it be for Sprint to delay the Sirius signal and add a swear filter? Any thoughts, or am I naive about phone technology?

That is a very valid point other's have brought up- but can not get a straight answer from Sirius yet- What get's me is all these phones that offer internet and video clips from MTV etc.. How do they police this for users?- the whole thing sounds like a double standard, and if Sirius caves in to please an unproven marketing scheme with Sprint- Then who knows what's next- It's there content they should be the ones that make the decision not Sprint! I hope everyone who is against this sends emails, letters and/or calls Sirius and make your voice heard.

TX, as far as censored and uncensored goes, I remember you mentioned HBO Family in a previous post. I agree with that idea, but probably not in the way you mentioned.

Look at HBO. You have HBO Family that you know you can play for the kids whenever, but they also play kids movies and other everybody fare on the regular HBOs as well. However, they also play Tony Soprano and softcore porn. The point being that if you do let your kids watch HBO, you need to depend on your own discretion and not be out of the room when the TV switches to a rerun of Cathouse.

So it should be with Sirius. Nobody is saying kids should only be able to listen to Kids Stuff and Radio Disney. They're saying that parental discretion should be used when outside of those channels. Since Sirius tells you who's playing, this shouldn't be a great problem.

You know that Hip Hop Nation is going to have swearing. You know that Bluegrass won't.
