Thats too many.
- IT is featured programing over 8 channels.. for that weekend..

"SIRIUS will also present exclusive track-by-track stories and introductions to each of A Bigger Bang's 16 all-new songs, as told exclusively to SIRIUS by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ron Wood. "Rolling Stones Weekends" will be featured during Labor Day weekend across eight SIRIUS commercial-free music channels."

Wow, that was fast.... it's already listed in the drop down menu in the on-line player, but it isn't working yet since the channel doesn't start until tomorrow...

Oh man, does this mean we'll have to go over a month without Soundscapes on Horizons??

Does anyone think that the end of this trial period will come at the same time they decide to redo the lineup?

It's not a bad idea, but why destroy an entire channel for six weeks?

This shows how little Sirius cares about Horizons and any programming on it.

And why not kill a rock channel for six weeks instead?

Let it be known throughout the land, Sirius Satellite Radio is now whoring itself out to the highest bidder.

So probably a new channel for Horizons, which would probably be stupid!

But I agree with Casual Fan

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe Soundscapes on 99 when the Stones thing is over, and Horizons either moves or goes away? People are already used to hearing Soundscapes on Sundays on 99, so it would be a natural place for it.

Because those channels have more listeners? Horizons can't be THAT popular, can it?

Horizons's regular playlist is very small and therefore gets stale quickly, but its special shows are popular. I don't see any way to tell what channel is more popular than another. However, having a mainstream rock band take over a whole unrelated channel is counter to offering the variety that people expect from an on-demand music service. I suspect that there will even be plenty of Rolling Stones fans that feel put off by this programming decision. If what's less popular is the criteria for being pre-empted then why not turn the Elvis channel into the Stones channel for this period? Is the Elvis channel more popular than Horizons?

I'm sure I read a while back on here somewhere that somebody said soundscapes was going to have it's own channel again in September. Seems as though it will take over when this stones thing is over.

TX and I were chatting and realized, this means no Soundscapes!

Oh well, since we're getting it back full-time we can tough it out.
