I'm looking forward to it. Spirit is good, but it kind of gets on your nerves after a while. Some Christian Rock will be nice to diversify my usual listening habits. Maybe they can also deepen the Christian playlists, it seems that Spirit repeats songs quite a bit.

And Tdcompton, I'm sorry you feel that way, but please remember this is a radio service. There are plenty of channels that I, as a Christian, don't like supporting (Shade 45, Howard Stern, Hits 1, the hip-hop channels, etc), but we're all in this thing together and our collective subscription fees keep the content we all want on Sirius.

Once they make the changes that will be 7 christian channels I think that's a little too many but i'm not cancelling over it, censorship might make me cancel though.

Whenever I'd get ahold of a friend's XM radio, I'd always check out the Torch. It was never great enough to get me to add XM, but I'm looking forward to having the Revolution.

Sorry to break it to you, but you're already paying for Christian channels on SIRIUS. Spirit //Ch. 12 is one, then there's EWTN Global Catholic // Ch. 160, The Word Network // Ch. 161 (which will be leaving on September 2) and EWTN Radio Catolica Mundial // Ch. 180 among others.

Just because there are Christian channels doesn't mean you have to listen to them. There are people here who wished for a Christian Rock channel and now they have one. Let them enjoy it while you listen to whatever channels you listen to on a daily basis.

As a heterosexual married man I don't want to pay for a Gay/Lesbian/Transgender Channel. But I do. I didn’t base my purchase of Sirius on 120 channels, I based it on the 15-20 channels that I like.

Let's keep in mind that Sirius gears more towards talk radio and not everyone will agree with the views and opinions on every single one of those channels. Like every other business out there Sirius is out to make money. If there is a market out there for music of other religions I would bet my last dollar (if I weren't Chrisitan ) that there would be a channel for it. So for those that would like to have a Jewish, Islamic, etc... talk/music channel I would suggest voicing your opinion to Sirius. Evidently enough Chrisitians have and that's why we are getting some additional channels we can enjoy.

One of the channels that steered me towards a subscription with Sirius was EWTN. Just as many Stern listeners are saying... if you don't enjoy listening to these channels there are 114 other channels to tune to.

Peace,
Bill

I agree TX WJ. I got Sirius for what I like. I know how to change the channel if I don't like something.

Thanks TX, that's a good one!

Amazing how these people are against censorship, unless they want to censor out religious programming. You can't have it both ways. I dont listen to channels I dont like and pay for (like Stern coming up), but I'm smart enough to not turn it to that channel.

Its hard to find Christian ROCK stations on fm or am. So a Christian rock station is rare.

But everyone needs to understand what Sirius is doing. Like I said a few weeks ago, a little more Christian programming is an excellent marketing move. The Christian base is huge and Sirius had failed to market to that group. By adding the rock channel and the Christian talk channel, they will indeed gain many more subs from the Christian community.

The argument that we will soon have every religion represented is absolutely absurd. There is not a huge muslim market in America, not a huge hindu market either. Sirius will therefore NOT try to reach those markets with a muslim or hindu channel. But theres a really big Christian market. Thats why theyve made this great move. They understand how many evangelicals are in this country.

The example I like to use is President Bushs campaign. I mean he reached out to the evangelicals and its because of them that he won. If they hadnt come to the polls Mr. Kerry would be President. plain and simple. What Sirius is doing is exactly what Pres. Bush did and they will be rewarded.

I'm sure that you wouldn't be for a christian bashing station... why should I be for one that promotes it?
You know, no where in the Constitution are you guaranteed freedom FROM religion. You have no "right" to NEVER be exposed to hearing the word "God".

Yeah, and now they've saddled us with a president who is less popular than Nixon. Thanks evangelicals!! No one ever accused you of being rational.

Like Dan Wxman, I can't see how this is a smart move. There are so many Christian stations that I can't get a clear station to run my FM transmitter through. Most are non-commercial and run local church announcements, so I'm not sure their listeners will be that interested in switching to a pay service.
