Thumbs up Cool Disorder experience

As you can tell from my sig I listen to SIRIUS Disorder a lot. yesterday I had a day off and was out doing some errands with a buddy of mine (picking up the new Who CD at BB for 10 bucks and also all 3 versions of the new KISSology DVD set) and something came on the radio. After a couple minutes we both looked down and said, "Hey, that's pretty cool." It was a group called Soul of John Black so while we were at another music store (looking for the new Tragically Hip -- good music day yeaterday!) we looked up that CD and it said it was out of print, even though it only came out in 2003. Well, our last stop was a new FYE Superstore with a ton of used inventory and lo and behold they had a copy for 5 bucks!

I relate the story for 2 reasons: First, a lot of folks complain about the repetition and small playlist on SIRIUS. I realize that may be true on a lot of stations but here's an instance where they're playing music that's out of print and hard to find. Also, this is exactly where satellite radio excels -- playing music that wouldn't get a nod on terrestrial radio and thereby introducing listeners to a lot of stuff we wouldn't have heard otherwise.

Well, I though it was cool anyway....

I listen to Disorder a lot and I love it. They play songs in a variety that I've never heard before.

I agree, I really dig how deep Disorder goes. I was surprised to hear Kid Creole and the Coconuts on there one night. I also heard them played on First Wave during there "deep Tracks" weekend, I think that was for the 4th of July? Any Disorder is great! Now if we could get a funk station that played deep funk tracks. Sirius would be on its way to perfection.
