i dont think it's repeating as much anymore...it sounds like they're ripping more CDs into their playlist rotation everyday.

Angry Sirius Christmas Issues

Usually this time of year, I can't get enough christmas music, but listening to the Sirius 2 for the past week has turned me off to christmas music because I keep hearing the same crap over and over again. This seems to be a commeon issue with many sirius channels not just the christmas channel, thank god Direct tv carries the XM channels so I can at least get some decent christmas music with a rotation that barely ever repeats. Don't get me wrong, I love sirius (mostly howard) but come on, I can only stand to hear Barry Manilow and "new song" so many times.

It has definitley gotten better. I have sent in some requests & they have been played & are in rotation at times. if we all add more, different requests, I think the selection will definitley get better.

Jesus, that's the worst! I'd like to know what nutjob tard came up with the idea to sing a depressing Christmas(!) song like that ...during the most suicidal time of the year?!

Thumbs down last year....

on the radio classics channel (118) they played old christmas radio shows thru the month of december (and it was actually pretty good) this year nothing.

Today(dec 14th) they are now playing the old classic radio christmas shows

Christmas Shoes is a great song if it is played occasionally(once every 48 hours or so), but playing it what seems like double digit spins per day is annoying as hell. What I would love to hear, but haven't so far:

-Bing Crosby - God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Mele Kalikimaka, Jingle Bells, Let It Snow, I'll Be Home For Christmas, Silent Night, Silver Bells

-Royal Guardsmen - Snoopy's Christmas(It was on last year)

-Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping

-Tom Petty - Christmas All Over Again

-Lindsey Buckingham - Holiday Road(I know it's not 'christmas', but it was in Christmas Vacation)

Hell, the College Station I work at has a better Christmas selection than Sirius does. If they think they are appealing to their younger demographic by playing NSYNC and 98 Degrees, they will be sorely disappointed to find that most people like rememberingwhat their parents played when they were younger because it often conjures up happy memories. Proof? People have requested every single Bing Crosby song I've listed.

For the most part, I've given up on StarLight Christmas, and started listening to my Christmas CDs. I grew up listening to Christmas songs by Perry Como, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Johnny Mathis, etc.
I am really frustrated by so many songs by Kenny G, Manheim Steamroller, Celine Dion, boy bands, etc.

Even Musak radio breaks up Christmas into traditional and contemporary.

I agree that I hear the same X'mas songs on channel 2 everytime I turn to it. It's usually Andy Williams' "Most Wonderful Time of the Year".

I was 1st introduced to the song Mele Kalikimaka from listening to SIRIUS 2 yrs ago but I haven't heard it yet this year.

Default still disappointed

I wish they had kept classical christmas (86) going until new years even though i wasn't much for the opera singing the music was nice...now if they had only used real "stars" in there starlite christmas channel(02) instead of wham , springstein, pretenders, and the one about the shoes(good god) ..i hope they do a classic christmas channel next year with all the classics we grew up with(thats if your over 45 lol) like xm did.
