I still think he's going to RCR to run that fourth car...

Come on, they're just starting silly season a bit earlier and earlier every year. It could only be that he's thinking of buying into the team for the future. Who knows, although, Tony's said he's going to have a "big" announcement in Eldora. I don't seem him leaving Gibbs but stranger things have happened.

The rumour has been out there for almost 2 weeks. And Tony going to Haas/CNC would include ownership.

Its been a rumor for longer than 2 weeks about Tony wanting to get back with Chevy. Ive heard things get thrown around, RCR is an option, Ive HEARD HMS, but that is probably pending Casey Mears actually performing the remainder of the year as he is the obvious guy who would get the ax.

Buying/merging with HASS...that IS career suicide. I can see RCR happening, but I have a HARD time seeing him leaving Gibbs

This is going to get bigger and bigger with more fall-out over the next few months. I am sure everyone remembers when JGR announced there change to Toyota, right? Just as I, you can recall J.D. Gibbs saying that after extensive talks with Tony Stewart the entire JGR organization is confident that Stewart will remain with JGR for the remainder of his contract and talks happened back then about extending his contract. Well it looks like all that was a sweet little cover up to get Toyota and sponsors on board for the change. I am glad to see Tony leaving JGR, but he needs not to step into a team that needs a total rebuild like Haas. For those of you who might not know, Tony has said publicly and numerous times that he only races to pay for his fun off the track. So owning a Sprint cup team might be his way to still have fun without driving, but Tony, not Haas, PLEASE not Haas

Assuming he is leaving is dangerous. Its still rumor, but it has at least a 50/50 shot. I imagine Zippy leaving would be part of the package IF it were to happen

I dont know from where you get your info on how this has been a rumor for more than two weeks.

I have heard multiple signs of his discontent about driving for Toyota, but its nothing more than hearsay from people who dont have credible sources im sure. This Haas deal has nothing but a few rumors and Ill play a ill believe it when I see it attitude because If we think this is bad, then I cant see how this ca be good for him.

This could be a win-win situation. A win for Tony....to own a team. A win for JGR...to get another young gun to fill that seat.

That would give them 3 young fellas to drive for several years to come.

Don't forget Joey Logano.

And maybe Tony could help out Miss Wallace. That would be really cool.

On Monday's show Poole predicted NASCAR would come up with some kind of announcement, penalty, controversy to remove any talk of Danica Patrick at Talledega this weekend. I'll bet this dominates the news in the next three days.

Heck, it wasn't a hard prediction to make. If you've been around a while and know how things move....

Theres nothing in that that is earth shattering, other than Haas admitting they have talked to Stewart's people.

My gut feeling is this is a done deal. There are way way too many different stories coming out saying this is in the works for it to be absolutly nothing.

I grew up in the same "neighborhood" as Tony and watched him coming through the ranks. All the Sirius host downplayed the "Gibbs going to Toyota and getting Tony uncomfortable" line BUT I know I am a buying Dodge, Ford, and Chevy only kind of girl and I can totally see that being Tony's way also. He has soooooooo many connection with Chevy.

Zippy might be the same way ... when is his resign? And Zippy might be waiting for Joey ... who knows...

I think it is Tony's PR department trying to shine up his 'needfulness' in order to get a good deal on his next Gibbs contract. If he doesn't get the contract he wants I'll bet he'll drop out of NASCAR as a driver and then maybe run a team but I honestly can't see Tony hanging around NASCAR's top level in any form.

Tony would be better off spending his money outside of NASCAR and maybe even teaming up with the likes of Humpy wheeler, Eddie Gossage and Bruton Smith to create a new openwheel short track(max 1.5mile) racing series. A series with 1200hp big block 500ci on a 1200lb chassis with ZERO downforce and no aero devices and big as wide tires coupled to CVT to maximize the engines brute torque. Make them slower and sideways in the corner but will accelerate down the straight like nothing we've ever seen before.

A real MAN's racecar! Non of this sissy crap that has mutated motorsports over the past 25 years.

Looking low(but not dragging), wider than modern day openwheel, as long as a modern day openwheeler. A more open cockpit like sprintcar or a 1970's indy car but with day's saftey features with out blocking driver visibily to the fans. Just seeing the top of a helmet with todays cars is LAME! Might as well be RC cars out there.
