Default Nascar Streaming

It was happy to see that NFL Radio started streaming this fall. Anyone heard if Sirius will make Nascar radio stream once 1/1/07 rolls around. It kills me that I miss Sirius Speedway every day because of work. Dave Moody, care to comment?

I have no information, but my guess is that it will happen, along with the "new" NBA channel. These channels are for Sirius, so there is no reason why they shouldn't be available on the net.

I have no idea what they plans are in that department. Let me ask around and see.

Post Almost One Year Later

So here we are, enthusiastic fans all, entering the one year anniversary of NASCAR coming to Sirius, and still no streaming.
Although I am probably one of the lucky ones, had an antenna installed in my office so I can plug in, It sure would be nice to be able to listen anywhere I can jump on line.
Can anyone clarify if we will ever have the luxury? Or, is it all about copyright material and all of the legal stuff?

My guess is is that NASCAR.com has the rights to stream anything NASCAR, so Sirius cannot.

I don't ever go to nascar.com, but I think they stream the races and other NASCAR programming.

Maybe Sirius and NASCAR.com can get together and work something out.

I wouldn't get down on Sirius for this. XM couldn't stream NASCAR either...

I would bet Sirius can stream their programming like "Sirius Speedway" or "The Driver's Seat" any time they want. It doesn't look like Channel 128 is one that's available on the online channels, though.

I travel quite a bit and don't have access to my satellite radio while I'm gone, so it would be nice to listen to the NASCAR shows streaming online. On demand would be even better.

Sirius can do whatever they want, the technology's there, provided they have the monetary incentive to do so (ka-ching).

So how about the Sirius NASCAR radio hosts helping get a feel for how many listeners are interested in this? Hmmmm, how 'bout it, Godfather?

Yeah, it would be cool. But there's got to be legal reasons for it.

When I first got my account in Feb. 07 I went right to the net and listened to the NFL. AWESOME. This was before I bought a home kit for my radio.

So now I just listen to my radio in the house and I don't have to put up with internet drop-outs. Which can be a problem with streaming. I tried, one time, to stream off the Nascar.com site. That was the last time.

I think its more a bandwidth issue than a copyrights issue because the only sports channel they have on the net is 124. If it was just strickly a rights issue, every channel except 128 would be available.
