Default Sirius drops Stephanie Miller from Sirius Left.

The clever fools at Sirius replaced a Top Liberal talk radio personality with their own cheap programming. The patronizing idiots think that an African-American centric show automatically means "Left."

They'll waste God knows how much on Martha Stewart ,who according to ratings nobody listens to, but they won't pay for a real talent.

No shit. What numbskull thought this was a good idea? I love Stefanie. I tried listening to this new show yesterday, and it was painful to say the least.

That does it for me - Stephanie Miller was the only reason I subscribed! Guess I'll invest in a good iPod adapter for the car and subscribe to her Podcast. So long Sirius - your greed is chasing away another customer.

Wow, I tuned by last night and thought maybe it was a temporary thing. So she's off for good, has this been confirmed ? As a dual sub, I hope she makes a deal with XM then. Locally I can only hear her when the local hockey team isn't playing.

There's always the "StephCast." http://stephaniemiller.com/subscribe.php

100% sure I'm going to subscribe. 99.99% sure Sirius is history for me.

I have an iPod I can listen to Anywhere, including through my car stereo.

I have tons of CDs that I am converting to music files. Plus, I can record Internet music streams at night that are Far superior to the selections on Sirius and dump them on my iPod For Free.

I don't know what Sirius thinks they're going to do to keep their current base when Howard leaves in a couple of years or so. I enjoy Howard now and then, but his devotees are dumbing down the entire network and making Sirius cheap out on other programming. I guarantee you this is why Stephanie is gone.

Wow, that is lame as hell. I liked that show. Probably the best show on Sirius left.

Default W.t.f.

My whole evening commute is shot to hell now - I looked forward to Steph as much as I look forward to getting the hell out of my office. And they managed to find the dullest dude in the world to fill her slot, just to add insult to injury.

I have a theory that this is part of a ploy to make sure the Sirius/XM Merger goes thru. Liberals by and large are against Media Consolidation. How do you make them support it? Make liberal talk radio (which for most of us is only available thru Sirius) and make it so boringand awful that they clamor for Air America via XM.

Let's face it - Talk Left's original programming is for the birds, all their best programming is syndicated, and to put a snore like Mark Thompson in Evening Drive just made my subscription seem a lot more expensive than it did the day before yesterday. It's hard enough for us lefties to find programming out there.

And don't even get me started on Lynn Samuels.

Hey, Sirius, I'm a liberal with no broadcasting talent - can I have a show? I'll work cheap!!!

Mostly a lame lineup. XM, I understand, regularly preempts Air America with sports programming.

Profitable Liberal talk stations are being bought across the US and being replaced with other programming. Most of the time the replacement programming takes the station to last place. Stephanie Miller and Ed Shultz recently went to DC and talked to Congressmen about this.

There are forces out there working for ideology, not profit, because they can afford it.

Hardly Republican, imo.

I tuned in after BTLS yesterday and was so disappointed to hear that they dropped the show. Other than the shows on Howard 100 and 101, the Stephanie Miller show became an instant favorite of mine when I first signed up in January. I e-mailed Chris and got this response:
"Unfortunately, we had nothing to do with Sirius' decision. They said they wanted to concentrate more on Sirius hosts rather than on syndicated programs."

I hope they don't drop Mike Malloy as well.

Thumbs down The Last Straw

Having managed to lose Air America and CSPAN over the last six years as a subscriber, losing Steph was the last straw. I cancelled my two subscriptions last night, fired off an angry email to the vp of talk at Sirius (Jeremy Coleman -- jcoleman@siriusradio.com) and another to the FCC, even though its too late for an official filing. This is a prime example of why we certainly don't need a monopoly in satellite radio.

I'll send an e-mail later. In addition to Mike Malloy, it would be a shame to lose Thom Hartman and even Bill Press although I haven't listened to his show in a long time. Why couldn't they drop Ed Schultz if they needed a slot for Mark Thompson?

My vote would be to kick Lynn Samuels off the island, the sooner the better. But wait, it doesn't matter anymore. I'm just a poor schmuck with $500 worth of useless satellite receiver equipment now, aren't I?

Yeah. If they had to get rid of a talent they pay for, Schultz would be my pick.

I'm leaving the office now and do not get to listen to Stephanie and her mooks on the way home.

Sirius has ruined my week.

If once in awhile on a Saturday evening is regularly, then yes, XM sometimes preempts Air America. Sirius Left is on the list of play-by-play channels also.
