I could go for a muslim channel. I like the pop music coming out of the countries who allow it. Not to mention Japanese pop and rock is interesting. I am not talking the ping pong ding dang dong stuff but real rock. You can catch a good mid east pop song on Horizons once in a while.

I think we are getting a French channel from Canada?

You obviously haven't listened yet. It's a Korean talk channel. (Unless you speak Korean )

Hmm yes. There are a lot of Hyndai's out there. At least where I live.

If that were the case, that would be such a cool F.U.

This is an alright idea, but for good business I think they should have gone with Japanese, census be damned. Then you not only get the ethnic audience that Radio Korea is going for, but you get all those white japanophile kids who are obsessed with all things related to japanese entertainment. Quite a lot of young, nerdy (i.e. more open to replacing their radio or buying an add-on) men in that segment.

You know the guys I'm talking about. The 17-25 set who keep posters of giant city-crushing robots all over their bedroom walls.

I agree that there probably was a better use of that channel out there. I just don't get it... I'd like to know how many subscribers can actually listen to that channel and will people subscribe just to hear one channel? Can't Korean-Americans already get Korean TV on Free to Air satellites? I don't know why this bothers me so much but it does?? It just seems completely stupid.

I completely agree with Joel. I've caught myself listening to Radio Korea and wondering what in the world Sirius was thinking. This seems like an awfully specialized channel to spend on limited band width. Honestly, I'd imagine it is wasted space for the overwhelming majority of customers. I just don't get it.

If Sirius advertises on public radio stations that cater to Korean audience, I could see them building some business off of this. Just adding it and expecting Koreans to buy into it would be dumb. So I suspect they do have a plan to build an audience for it.

Sirius should have a Korean Channel, a Chinese Channel as well as Spanish Channels. These are the communities that are growing.

They do need to group them al together though.

Maybe the government of Korea is paying them?

I know I am joing the thread kind of late but isn't this channel already live? I was channel surfing in the car the other day on my way home or to work - don't remember and came across Radio Korea.

Sounded really good - of course I couldn't understand a darn thing they were saying. However, phonetically, it does sound very similar to Japanese, at least in intonation and the rythym of the spoke language.

I think its cool that Sirius is going after these different markets.

Truly this is the dumbest mistake made by Sirius. My only conclusion is that this channel is run by North Korea, it has threatened to nuke Sirius headquarters if they dont put it on, and it is a way to comunicate to any Korean spys who are over here, I mean they are the only ones who could understand it.
