Ntilly said "Oh for you libs...turn on 141 or 142 since 144 is out. You might learn something. "

</rant begin>

Have you ever listened to 144 or 143?

I do listen to the center and right channels ... as well as watch C-span (1, 2, and 3) and like to check the news against what BBC and CBC report.

What I've always found interesting is that the "left-leaning" programs seem to advise people to explore all sides of an issue, seek multiple sources, and learn by understanding.

When I listened to Rush on Friday, I heard him declare that speaking out against the war should get the protester thrown out of the country. I guess that's better than Bill O's suggestion a month or so ago that the FBI take Air America's on-air personalities out in shackles.

Here are some suggestions for your own edification and learning...

Um, ok. The check's in the mail ... at least they had the forethought to have marketing prepare a canned response.

I'll give them until my subscriptions expire in 9 or 10 months.

They better hurry the heck up. If things don't get going before my subscription ends I'm done.

Too many changes and one in the area of programming that I like. So, why pay for it?

Sirus, I'm SERIOUS....get it together before I lose my patience.

Yes. They're entertaining if you like conspiracy radio and hate George Bush.

And why shouldn't they be arrested? They've only pilfered and embezzled $875,000 from a branch of a national charity. The current ownership (Piquant) said they made an agreement to pay it back. When? Why haven't they opened up that escrow account yet? All they've done is write a check for $50k as lip service so far, and only after they had been exposed.

Guano-boy, you just admitted you don't care about 143 & 144, so why do you feel the need to post on this thread? You certainly aren't contributing to the conversation, and your ditto-head mouth-breathing schoolboy rants are laughable at best. Why don't you read a few books, listen more, and then you can join the reality-based community here.

Man, you need to work out your anger issues ... and while you're at it, work on your fact checking - it comes in handy in the real world...

BatSh*tCrazy:
Yes. They're entertaining if you like conspiracy radio and hate George Bush.

I don't hate GWB. I hate the fact that my local taxes have gone up more than my federal taxes have gone down ... add to that increased gasoline costs, rising interest rates, a deficit that we will all have to pay down until we're in the grave ... I hate the policies that our country has enacted, I hate that we have lost our place in the world as a moral and trusted leader, I hate that we are diverting funds from critically needed programs like veteran's benefits, head start into pentagon contractor's coffers. I hate that 2,000 soldiers have died, 40,000+ have been seriously injured, while we're creating more terrorism than existed PRIOR to 9/11 ... Big difference between hating a policy and a person... which is something I seem to hear a lot from the right talkers - "shut up", "get rid of 'em", "dead or alive"

BatSh*tCrazy:
Wow! A real news hound, aren't you?!

If you don't know what you're talking about, then you spend more time and energy listening.

BatSh*tCrazy:
Name them.

A good example would be to compare Bill O'Reilley's web site (www.billoreilley.com) vs. Randi Rhodes (www.therandirhodesshow.com). Bill's site is hawking membershps, a contest to win an ipod, boycotting France, and a guide to the topics covered on the current show.

Randi's site, in addition to listing show topics, provides links to external sites and articles (some news, some opinion) - NYTimes, NY Law Journal, Wash Post, Associated Press, etc.

Rachel Maddow links to (and cites) sources including San Diego Union-Tribune, Copeley News Service, The Guardian, Wash Post, etc.

As I stated, the left-leaning shows (that I listen to, at least) explore more sides and seek multiple sources -- they also tend to cite their sources.

BatSh*tCrazy:
Get me a transcript. Find me where Mush-mouth said that

Ok, from Rush's show on THURSDAY (my oops, I was listening to a podcast one day later) Aug 11: "Wouldn't it be great if anybody who speaks out against this country, to kick them out of the country? Anybody that threatens this country, kick 'em out. We'd get rid of Michael Moore, we'd get rid of half the Democratic Party if we would just import that law. That would be fabulous. The Supreme Court ought to look into this. Absolutely brilliant idea out there."

BatSh*tCrazy:
And why shouldn't they be arrested? They've only pilfered and embezzled $875,000 from a branch of a national charity. The current ownership (Piquant) said they made an agreement to pay it back. When? Why haven't they opened up that escrow account yet? All they've done is write a check for $50k as lip service so far, and only after they had been exposed.

Did you lose some money with AAR? I was referring to what Bill O stated re: the TALENT, not the business management. I'm sure we can find all sorts of investor complaints with Time Warner, Clear Channel, Infiniti, Viacom, etc. as well.

BatSh*tCrazy: Yeah. Let's all turn to the good 'ol ACLU. Without A CLUe
So a derragatory play on their name is all you can come up with?

------------

Sorry, everyone, for getting into a flame war. I'm shutting up now. This is way too childish for me to waste my time with... this poster clearly is living up to his handle.

MJ-bos, its amazing how some libs cant take a joke. Im a strong conservative but enjoy hearing both sides. So the answer to your question is yes i do listen to lib radio. In fact I enjoyed listening to Franken regularly and wish AAR didnt leave. I never agreed with him, but he was interesting. Im sorry my little joke offended you. Take a chill pill. It was a joke.

Default If Sirius brings on new streams later in the year

and these streams contain the progressive/liberal content I find interesting, I will be back on board in a minute

Right now I am just on the sidelines waiting for the dust to settle

as stated previously ... My bad.

Back to the topic at hand - and Sirius' response.

I do find it a little disingenuous that they have been, since April, promising "more is coming..."

The first time they said it, the Martha announcement was made.

Now they've said it again, and it's Richard Simmons.

I would think that even some of our more right-leaning friends might have preferred AAR over Richard Simmons or Martha "insider trading was not a good thing" Stewart. I could be wrong, but it's a guess.

With the advent of podcasting, I'm finding myself using iPodder just like I do my TiVo... my talk radio, when I want it, where I want it. Ad-free, at that! I actually use them together - iPodder to suck in the shows, which then are available to my TiVo via the home network, which I route to the stereo... and off to a g'nite with Stephanie (when not laughing).

Cheers,
Marc

I think we do have to acknowledge that since that time they've added Bill Press to Sirius Left too. That was an improvement. However, that's nowhere NEAR enough to keep me on board yet. I really want the new channel soon (or at least an *official* indication that they are adding such a channel). I think with XM's announcement yesterday committing to carrying Randi Rhodes show completely live soon, that it's really now in Sirius's corner to respond and say something that will indicate this sort of commitment to a new progressive talk channel too. They really can't wait another week or so to at least say something about their plans, even if they don't want to describe everything that might still be in negotiation stages right now.
